I understand the importance of game 3. I think everyone knows Boston is dangerous and can extend the series but Boston willing game 3 really restarts the series again. I DO love how the Knicks play after a loss, so even if we get smoked in game 3 I could see us playing like maniacs to get to 3-1 after 4 which is pretty darn good

OR... hear me out... what IF, the Knicks flip the script and actually have a lead in the 4th quarter?

Knicks have NOT played well. Missed a ton of shots. Bridges/Brunson were terrible until late. Getting beat on the boards, turnovers... Celtics have a great defense but I feel after these two games they feel more exposed than we do.

Then again KP can shot 15-22 from 3 on any given day but I like our chances. Thibs his committed to guarding the 3 in this series and Celtics are committed to shooting it. Lets see what cracks and what holds!

Celts probably feel they just need to maintain the level of play that got them their 20 point leads and stay away from the type of play that got them to lose the leads.
Think they should be pretty confident that they can.

I feel the series will be won by the Knicks if they can show that even when Celts play well, they have enough to beat them.

I hope they think that, because they haven't played well either. Anyone watching last game, even while they built their 20 point lead, could see they were just asking the Knicks to take that game. Knicks were so bad for 3Q that they fell behind 20 regardless, but once the Knicks turned it up Celtics were cooked.

I mean, I'm not confident we'll win this series yet. Lot of luck got us here which can't be counted on.

Shame on those saying he was too soft in the playoffs!

If Knicks lose game 1, the narrative would be that kat is not the answer. He was turning the ball over, getting offensive fouls and complaining a lot

IDK if I've ever seen a playoff run that didn't involve some luck.

But I do think people are mistaking Knicks incredible defense for simply bad shooting by Boston. And it's just not true. Tatum only got one FGA against OG in 36 possessions last game. He was only able to get one freakin' shot off on him. There is nothing lucky about that for the Knicks, that's all work. Boston is also not getting any corner 3s. They are shooting the 3s the Knicks want them to shoot.

They shot 13 and 22 percent on open 3s. Way below their averages.

Open 3s is dumb and many analysts are calling that line of thinking dumb as it pertains to this series. They aren't getting the 3s they want.

During the regular season, the Celtics averaged 30.7 catch-and-shoot 3-pointers per game, second-most in the NBA, and made a scorching 39.1% of them. That was nearly twice their nightly volume of pull-up triples: 16.8 per game, which they converted at a notably chillier 33% rate. That balance mostly held across four regular-season matchups with New York: 30 catch-and-shoot looks, knocked down at a 43.3% clip, compared to 17.8 pull-up attempts, splashed 43.7% of the time.

Celtics are averaging more pull up 3s and less catch and shoot 3s then they are used to shooting. 22 3PA on pull ups versus 17 in the reg season, and 27.5 C&S versus 30.7 in the reg season. Game 1 was the most pull up 3s they have shot in a game all season long.

Anyone who has played, knows that shooting off the bounce might as well be it's own category, it's simply not the same as catch and shoot, and if you force them to shoot off the bounce more, and miss more, it will impact their confidence on the C&S. It also means you are forcing 3s from above the break, because pull up 3s don't occur in the corners.

yeah good post and doesnt credit the Knicks defense. That's how good D works... you start rushing the few good shots you get and miss those also.

Knicks have not capitalized on bad shooting. They have wrecked the Celtics shooters and their confidence. They lost 2 games where they kept Brunson in check.

We just gotta split these and go win game 5 on their court

The best visual image of a double big line up is the Iconic poster with the beautiful woman in a T Shirt that said Jamaica from the late 70s. I can't post it but that poster was awesome back in the days

when the season started I thought boy if we could get those 7 guys healthy for the postseason I really think we can make a run. That was before OG could stay healthy so Mitch was a who knows also. Felt like a pipe dream but now it feels like a nightmare for the rest of the league because our starting 5 is legit and you back Brunson/KAT with McBride/Mitch and yikes.

We are playing like a young and hungry team.
