To me its been interesting that the Knicks essentially have had 4 fringe wings vying for a couple of spots and have preferred having Shamet/Ryan on the roster for most of the season vs. Warren or Okeke. They were clearly intending to find a sniper, and unfortunately haven't gotten it.

True. And McBride has been a little more off than expected or perhaps he just regressed to the norm a bit

True, Ryan was given an opportunity early on and has basically ridden the pine since.
Was surprised Shamet did not get any time last night.
Deuce is increasing his minutes and leaving little for Landry.

He was wearing a big ice pack on shoulder before game or perhaps after end of previous. Wonder if they don't want to play him back to back

Question: is it time to push all the chips in the middle and go for it?
I trust Leon and Brock to fill in any gaps if the opportunity arises but not screw the cap/future if this is not the time.

This notion of Mitch being the "CavKiller" is a bit overblown. Our team is very different than two years ago and they are also. Mobley is all grown up now. I do like that we can go big with Mitch/Precious at times and give our guys some rest.

I don't know if you missed it, but the Nets basically have all the picks they can trade.

I guess I did miss it. Perhaps Windhrost was right that we need to get thru a few deadline/trade/draft cycles before we make substantial bench moves.
Few teams make moves like we did and win the first year.

WHAT ABOUT THE 15th SPOT?
If the Knicks’ team salary remains the same after the deadline, they can sign a veteran - like T.J. Warren and Chuma Okeke of the Westchester Knicks or a free agent like Chris Duarte - as early as March 1, according to Yossi Gozlan (Gozlan does an excellent job breaking down all salary cap angles on his YouTube page). They have a roster spot open to add that player.

Landry Shamet cannot be traded. Ariel Hukporti cannot be traded before Wednesday. Precious Achiuwa waived his right to veto any trade when he re-signed with the Knicks.
The Knicks can trade the Washington Wizards' first-round pick that they own (likely to convert into two second-round picks). They can also trade first-round pick swaps in 2026 and 2030.
New York’s team salary is above the first apron. So the Knicks cannot sign a player who is bought out and had a previous salary of $12.8 million or more. The Knicks also can’t use the $3.9 million trade exception they created from moving Malachi Flynn last year.
One note on Achiuwa: the Knicks will have his Bird Rights this summer, so they will be able to sign him to a deal as long as five years and worth as much as the veteran maximum. I’m not suggesting they would do that. I only point that out to note that the Knicks will have avenues to re-sign Achiuwa this summer but they may have to exceed the second apron to do so.
