How many months will it take him to adjust to EST though? 6 months? He should be good by playoffs I guess.

Can't believe people are trying to downplay his playmaking.

Not downplaying it, as it was significant. Just not buying this “sky is falling” reaction many have. We have options to sign another center and we’ll adjust to the new situation. JB and Randle are playmakers and the team will still be coached to pass the ball to the open man.

Well that sucks. iHart was a very good glue guy for the Knicks. And he was familiar with the system. Precious wasnt given a qualifying offer, he's a UFA. The FO must feel confident in their ability to plug that hole in the roster if Precious is gone as well.

Still plenty of time to find a Center (or two) who fits the bill. Unless Sims comes back with a much improved game, I dont think he's part of the solution. Not for a team with the Finals on their minds.

I would have stayed in NY 100 out of 100 times.

Are you still the maitre d of club Ultimate Knicks in this hypothetical?

If I got 80% more cash to do my job in Oklahoma City for 3 yrs and then I could go back to wherever I lived, I'd do that all day long. That's the equivalent of working at least 2 fewer years.

He should still be on EST considering I don't think he played one minute for Portland

Check out the mansions in OKC on Zillow. Very cheap. Watch out for the tornadoes though.

Time Lord is a really great passer. He'd actually slot in pretty well to replace iHart (if he was to ever stay healthy). Knicks just don't have a way to match salaries for Time Lord without dealing DiVo (not happening) or Mitch (which just leaves us back at square one).

Duop Reath on Portland is someone I'd target. He was a beast at times for Portland. Can we get him for some second rounders?

i am going on record as saying iHart will disappoint in OKC. Not that I want that. I like the guy. But he will look more like a backup C with them and less like Joker-lite like he did with us.

It is what it is. Knicks are strong at every other position so they will survive.

I am with you.

The money would have always been there IMHO. iHart flat did not bet on himself. AOK to do that cause family first.

IMHO he could have been that guy for the Knicks in 2 years instead of a perennial backup who plays very very very well.

here's the thing... he bet on himself short term, so I would say yes. It's a front loaded deal so he's getting $60mm+ over 2 years, the last is an option and at 28 he will be an unrestricted FA and be looking for a huge payday, I am guessing back in NY or LA or something more to he and his wife's liking. He hedged it. OKC sucks but he's using them for the money and they are contenders. Perfect situation if you believe in yourself

No chance of him coming back. We will be in Cap hell by then. All our good contracts will be done and once you get past those aprons trading/signing becomes super hard. The best bet is to already be good so by the time you hit those cap levels you just have to maintain what you have. That is why we were on a timer to make our big trade that ended up being mikal.

That’s the thing: he’s joining this team that is set with Chet as their cornerstone C. Don’t think this will work out for him in the long run, but we’ll see…

This might end up being a blessing. Our cap situation is tricky. Mitch is already here on a friendly deal. Knicks are great at finding value players. We can build another successful platoon and we should try more lineups with OG/Randle and OG playing last line of defense.

iHart finds himself a life changing payday on a contender, I'm happy for him and not that mad because I think we do a good job pivoting here.
