I agree with this. Seems like OG is a little better as a Free Safety rather than a Defensive Tackle. His anticipating in the lanes and knowledge of where to be to take options away from the offense has been better than his ability to stop Siakam's low post moves. Achiuwa has been a little better about keeping Siakam off the block and forcing him to take Achiuwa off the dribble.

Yes OG in the final 5-6 mins a game effectively acts as a roamer. Thats where you see him attack passing lanes and play rim protector/deep safety to either help or contest. Its a massive weapon. When he missed time after his Elbow injury, we had multple end game situations where stops were hard to come by and it made it really easy to notices his value. Jalen is an offensive closer who makes clutch shots, but OG is almost every bit as effective as a defensive closer that makes impact plays - deflections/blocks/contests....fastbreak creation.

He’s never going to be healthy, but when he plays we always win. He’s just one of those guys.

The NBA schedule is an absolute joke right now though. No breaks and a night into a day game. The crowd will carry the guys and hopefully he can play in game 6.

Different issues. Zion's contingency is about lifestyle management. NOP wants Zion to manage his weight and off court exercise in order to keep him healthy and on the court.

OG is an effort guy that is consistently putting his body on the line for the team. I would expect his contract to be insurable, the injuries he has sustained don't really appear to be recurring. If anything they appear to be effort related - a series of ankle sprains. You make that contract contingent and you are creating a moral dilemma whether he should be maximizing effort or maximizing staying on the court. I think you give him his contract and let insurance and the trainers figure out how to keep him on the court or compensate the Knicks if he is injured.

We need to sign him and invest in an insurance policy for when he gets injured. That's just how it goes to get a guy with that impact for this team.

We either draft an OG clone - strong defensive wing who can hit a jump shot - or we find a veteran that can. Jae Crowder or Kelly Oubre type.

Agreed, I'm at peace even if we lost these next two games. I will tune out the National media and spotlight will be on "Thibs running his players into the ground" of course, but we all know the deal. This team is playing with house money now and made us proud. Beating a stacked Philly team while undermanned and positioning themselves to cruise to the ECF before OG got hurt. Next year is our year. Good times to be a Knicks fan no matter what happens.

We do not have the horses to compete beyond this series anyway if we're being honest.

Add in another star...and ECF win is the new standard, and hopefully at least gutting out our first visit to Chip series.

I think we can all agree...we love what we're seeing this year...a team that competes!
