It's been mentioned before, but there really isn't any pressure to move as long as he isn't creating any waves in the locker room. I like Gordon, but I'm not giving up any first rounders for him. He's not the key to a title run and he's 34. Plus, he's be kinda redundant with IQ. They really need a combo forward. Two second round picks and I think about it. A guy like Gordon provides relief to the top 6 and can help slightly move the needle. He can be a good example for an incoming rookie wing to help develop. For one of these low upside picks like the Detroit pick it’s well worth it to me. These protected firsts are low upside and not all of them may even convert ever. |

Gordon is OK now, but he's 34 and close to hitting the wall. He also plays a position that's already occupied by IQ. Not saying he can't contribute this season. But it's not worth burning a first round pick on him unless the team is close to knocking on the door and he's the missing piece. You can sign a free agent if you're worried about having a vet perimeter player to mentor the youth. He's a short term rental and the team has more pressing needs to address. I wouldn't lump the Wizards pick in the same tier as the Hornets pick they used to get Cam. There's a good chance that Wizards pick coney. Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. Mitch was always acquired with extra draft collateral. Big no for me... And to be fair, I do not consider the Detroit pick a low upside pick: https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed "2023 first round draft pick from Detroit: Detroit's 1st round pick to New York protected for selections 1-18 in 2023, 1-18 in 2024, 1-13 in 2025, 1-11 in 2026 and 1-9 in 2027" It'll probably most likely to transfer starting in 2025 or later, 26 or 27 would be ideal. The MAX you are getting out of Gordon is end of this year - 2+ months of work with playoffs - and then next season. He is a shooting guard and will take minutes away from: IQ, Grimes, McBride. Next question for me is would this FO do this type of trade and that would be an emphatic No. I think the trade value for Gordon is more along the lines of Detroit's 2024 second round pick IMHO. That’s more favorable than I realized. I thought it was 1-18 for a few years and then switched to 2 2nds. I’m still considering eventually moving the lesser of this year’s picks for a quality vet. We aren’t drafting 2 players plus bringing in Jokubaitis. |

The 8 player rotation thing in todays running spacing and pacing nba. No thanks I prefer 9 or 10 man rotation
