The time to fire him was last year. I got into countless arguments on these forums for stating that fact. All the good young coaches get signed and we still which this guy with schemes from the 90s that don't work anymore. Our record is not too bad yet but this game reminded us of many losses last year. That is why the fire Thibs stuff is starting up already.

Literally why? What is your barometer for firing a coach after 3-4? Literally who does this? Half the best teams in the league should be up for that by your process and it's entirely insane.

I mean, it's a nice over emotional reaction to a loss, but that seems about it.

I think I am there too. Just awful defense last night. And from many of the players that have been here the entire time with Thibs. So either they are awful defenders, which they are, or Thibs is not getting through with a plan that works for us. And it is this latter point I think that justifies, in mind, giving him the heave ho.

Knicks have had 7 different head coaches in the past 10 seasons. Pulling the trigger on new HC's does not seem to be problematic for the various and different Knicks front office execs......however, how has firing the head coach an average of every 1.5 seasons worked out?

Maybe we just bring in a new HC every week or just go with Kyrie's strategy when he said last season that the Nets did not need a HC.

It’s absolutely insane how many fans still believe in thibs. But we fire Woodson without even thinking about and he’s a top 5 coach in KNICKS HISTORY. I’m not sure if thibs makes the top 15 list.

It’s mismatch of players that don’t fit thibs style. He’s also out of sync with the FO. We’ve been saying let him go since last year. Then I said ok let’s see how we look this year. And so far we not 11 games in and we already have 3 of our worst losses this year. And Thibs was coach for 3 or the8 worse blown leads in nba knick history.

Thibs is top 5 alright, but top 5 on some of the worse list to be on. But he’s definitely not a top 10 Knicks coach. Why the love afair for one coach but at the time the two top 5 coaches in Knicks history do not get the same love. Woodson and Dantoni.

Agree! We really messed up. I knew Mitchell was good as far as his PPG last year. But, right now - looking at top scorers in the league- he is 3rd, behind Luka and Curry. And if you could pick from those three for your franchise- as great as Curry is, he is 34! And a ton of miles and minutes and his body - how much time does he have left at his current level of production? 3 years?

Mitchell is 26, still with upside and great production baring injury for what, 8 years at least if he keeps himself in good shape, to Curry's current age.

I was wrong to be against the trade.

Mitchell, you, me and 2 other UKers would be a competitive NBA team!

We saw JB perform well with Luka. JB and Mitchell would have been an amazingly dynamic back court that would have score more points that they give up. The outside shooting, the drives into the lane would make it easy for the remaining players - if we kept Randle- that could have been a fantastic, poor mans big three.
