I just ran over some deer roadkill on the way home. I guess this is my punishment from the sacred gods

To add to this is that the whole point of varying the rotations in the preseason is so you can see how different combinations work. It would be nice to vary things a bit when what you are doing is clearly not working or players are clearly off this game.

Randle 2-8... At least he was smart enough to know he didn't have it. RJ 7-17... He just can't help it.

At least we were able to stop Giannis from getting a triple double 😂

I am going to bring this up again but I think RJ should be playing with the bench. They match is game way more than the starters. The question is who would start in his place.

Bucks took away the drive from Brunson. Instead of going to a plan B, Brunson kept forcing the issue. Didnt look to set up his teamates. Brunson getting shut down made it tougher for everyone else to get an open look. Hopefully Brunson learns from this, and works harder to get his teamates going, when his shot isnt falling.

Giannis came into the game averaging 36 and we held under that! Got to look for that silver lining.

Knicks top guys didn’t shoot well or play well and they still hung around.

It seemed they just plain got man-handled. Couldn't control the boards, or find an open man. Nothing looked good.

Bucks stylistically match up with the Knicks very well. They are able to control the paint almost by default. Knicks actually had a lot of good looks from 3 but were not able to convert. RJ's 3 point shooting might be our Achilles heel.

Is Rose on a minute restriction? Or does Thibs just feel uncomfortable playing him with Brunson? I think another 10 minutes of Rose could have swung the game. Great effort all around. Milwaukee only had 7 turnovers. It's really tough to win like that.

The Bucks TEAM-DEFENSE beat the Knicks in all 4 quarters tonight SMH
Bucks -- 26 --33--32--23
Knicks --24 --29--37--23
Bucks .. 60 rbd, 23 ast, 8 stl, 8 Blk, 6 Turnovers. and shot 109 FGA
Knicks .. 54 rbd, 18 ast, 6 stl, 5 Blk. 12 Turnovers, and shot 92 FGA

Tonight headcoach Tom Thibs coaching philosophy were clueless of what a playoff Bucks team were doing throughout the 48 minutes of the game. The star Giannis put all his energy into getting a triple-double by co-existing in his teammates performance, rather than dominate the ball to score 40 to 50 points on the Knicks.
And Leon Rose forcing coach Thibs to give RJ Barrett 36 minutes of playing time against an above .500 season team Bucks .. 11 point loss!
Before Randle or Brunson became a Knicks players they had a career as a 26 minute player.
Why are the Knicks FO forcing them to do overtime each night ???
Brunson & D.Rose may be the Knicks best Closer going down the stretch of games this season.
Cam's defensive skills would probably fit well in a D.Rose & Brunson backcourt.

Was looking for Sims to come in when both Hart & MitchRob picked up their 2nd foul in the first quarter.

So this is interesting. Historically the Knicks have actually snuck wins on the bucks playing ICE defense on Giannis and forcing the rest of the team to beat them. It was always noticeable to me because normally the Knicks mixed in more traditional defense with ice, and man to man to throw different looks during games but Giannis would get straight ice defense all game. If Giannis was getting his points by flowing with the offense then the Knicks wouldn’t have come in prepared at all.

The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away

I tend to agree. The player who got destroyed tonight was Brunson. Holiday enforced him on defense and while he didn’t shoot well — got his at will. Julius was also bothered by length as well. Only thing that saved face was obi rose iq or else this is a much worse smack down

BroPez does has gotten better on defense over the years since he left nets. when healthy still a important piece.
When they went big with POrtis and Giasnnis with him they were HUGE. Allen keeps getting bigger and still has range.
Bucks were impressive.
Outside of memphis knicks had a creme puff schedule preseason and thus in regular season until last night. Dose of reality on the optimism.

No shame in losing on the road in Milwaukee. They are undefeated and has a great chance of being in the Finals. Giannis is just an incredible player. There is just no match up or defensive strategy against him. I actually think we did a good job holding him to 30. But it was his supporting cast that really hurt us. You really have no chance to beat the Bucks if you allow Ted Cruz lookalike and Carter to hit eight threes. And we also hurt ourselves with the missed FT's (10 missed) and allowing 19 offensive rebounds.

But I liked the effort. We came back like three times in this game. It was like 8-0 before we blinked and also got down plus 20 in the second half and manage to make a game of it, sort of. RJ continues to struggle but that third quarter was a good sign. He just needs to keep at it. Eventually those threes will fall. I'm not worried. The kid is a worker and he'll work himself out of this slump. But that missed bunny that would have tied it before the Bucks went on their run was killer. Randle also struggled offensively and I was confused as to why Thibs played him so much when Obi was hitting shots and playing well. I don't agree with Thibs allowing Randle (and RJ) to play their minutes regardless of performance. I have zero beef if Randle get's his 35 mpg and Obi his 13 mpg if Randle is feeling it that game but last night was not one of them.

IQ was our best player last night. Came in and immediately made an impact with threes, defense and playmaking. I really like how he's played. Hartenstein tries and I love his relentless motor but he struggles on the glass against true Centers. Rose also gave us good production off the bench. Keep his minutes low and keep him as fresh as possible.

But no reason to freak out last night. Beating Giannis at his house is super hard. We're not there yet.
