Maybe Bridges declines the QO and signs plays 1 year in CHA to become a FA after the suspension if that bridge is burned? This is going to be messy. Knicks don't have enough talent to not at least check on his status. Does anybody even care anymore about Kobe's rape settlement? Sports has a way of forgetting for talent

Or DRose "train" out in LA?

What we know from Nov. 3rd:

Miles Bridges news, updates: Plea deal, punishment
Bridges was present in court to pled no contest which means he is accepting punishment and conviction without formally admitting guilt.

As part of his deal, Bridges received three years probation but will not serve any jail time. His plea deal also requires the following during the course of his three-year probation:

Undergo 52 weeks of domestic counseling
Undergo 52 weeks of parenting classes
Serve 100 hours of community service
Undergo weekly drug testing
Pay $800 fine — $500 for domestic violence, $300 for restitution
Cannot own any weapons or ammunition
Obey 10-year protective restraining order from woman
Will Miles Bridges play this season?
As it stands, Bridges is not under contract with an NBA team though he is now free to sign. Under terms of the NBA collective bargaining agreement and because he pleaded no contest, the league now has the right to fine, suspend, dismiss or disqualify Bridges from any further involvement with the NBA.

Miles Bridges contract
The No. 12 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Bridges signed a four-year, $16.3 million contract with the Hornets.

On Oct. 3, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported that the Hornets and Bridges allowed his qualifying offer to expire. This means that Bridges can no longer return to the team this season for the $7.9 million qualifying offer that was extended to make him a restricted free agent.

I'd say the league suspends him the rest of the season and he starts the classes real soon.
The weekly Drug test is interesting part. Weed?
I'd think it reasonable he has a hand shake deal with Charlotte to return at some point. He need and his wife need to get their **** together.
Go to classes, learn, do well, round out his life a bit and then come back and publically wow the fan base but still have to walk the walk. I give him a two year deal with team option year two. If he does well on and off the court redue the deal longer term. If not, cut him loose.

The bolded is a little confusing to me. The way I read it is that he is a FA and free to sign with any team? Also the plea deal makes is unlikely that he can play this year.

Do your community service, 52 weeks domestic and parenting classes and see you next year.

I think your right. But does it mean he can't resign on that QO for a lessor amount? Or more? Im thinking its a dick move for other team to swoop in and grab him from Charlotte. League can't prevent it but they could suspend him for the rest of the year. I thought that letting the QO expire until the legal issue was clearer was the right move.
Seems reasonable to suspend him to let him work on his probation requirements. If he was to return and he not adhere that would be an awful look for both the team, Miles, and the league. It's not so much punishment but the path to let him fulfil his requirements.

Still an RFA. Just cannot sign a Qualifying Offer (it is expired).

Once you pull the QO, so too goes the RFA-status. The only thing in-question are his Bird Rights. I still think the Hornets could offer him higher annual raises by virtue of him playing with them more than 2 consecutive seasons.

He is unrestricted just like Josh Primo from the Spurs.
I don't think Primo is good enough for his career to survive this, but Miles Bridges is good enough.
Miles Bridges is already being courted by multiple teams, with Lakers at the top of the list.
I am fine with him going anywhere but the Lakers.

Here is an article that explains the difference between allowing a QO to expire versus “pulling it”.

Mile Bridges at the 3 instead of RJ would be a huge talent upgrade. This dude brings it every game. S&T RJ for Bridges or Randle for Bridges.
