Our bench headlined by a healthy Rose, with the addition of someone like Mathurin or Washington Jr to develop can be dangerous. And for those wondering how we get Brunson without giving up anything significant, here’s how we do it: offer Dallas’ first round pick next year to a team with cap space willing to take Burks and Noel into their cap space. That team can easily flip Burks and will gladly eat noels final guaranteed year for that pick. It will clear 20 mil in space and still have the ability to maintain Robinson's cap hold before resigning him. Or Knicks can simply give Dallas the same opportunity to accept that deal in a sign and trade if they want to gain some value back and not lose him for nothing. They still have Doncic running the show and Dinwiddie on a long term contract. Brunson can be the best PG we have had since Marbury and grow with the youth. There will still be some consolation needed but that starting lineup with Rose, IQ, Grimes, Reddish, Toppin, Sims, Gibson, McBride plus a rookie lottery pick and Jokubaitis in the pipeline gives plenty of depth and options going forward.
We essentially ran it back after adding Brunson and the results have been as good as we could have asked for. It’s cool to look back on our predictions and such and see what the result is. Also I thought moving the Dallas pick to clear the contracts would be the best option. Knicks used their own pick, but netted 3 protected picks back, so it worked out more in our favor than I could have hoped. And as for Brunson, he got robbed of allstar, but I think he has a chance to be all nba this year, plus he’s one of the most clutch players in the league, and he has helped saved Randle’s career with the Knicks and flipped it 180. What a difference a star PG makes.
