If it was mishandled that’s on the medical staff. Personally I didn’t want to resign him to anything other than a 1 year deal and that’s probably all he could have gotten on the open market |

![]() RJ was never going to sit out for long. He has been our best player this season and he is playing for that max rookie extension. I anticipate RJ will have 6 or 7 more 30+ point games before the season ends and Knicks will offer him the max extension this summer.

That's setting everyone up for failure or really not understanding what the process is for someone like RJ.
