Wow, big balls move by Thibs. Who’d of thought Kemba would be this years Austin Rivers? Feel really sad for him, but I think he could end up in a better fit situation. I presume we’ll love to trade him/buy him out once December 15th hits?

I see it as when we had Jason Kidd, he was only able to give us half a season.

Rose is gonna miss time. IQ or Burks can turn an ankle. Anything can happen. Kemba is a great guy who's not playing well. He's also a guy who can keep himself in shape and come off the bench after not playing for 2 weeks and drop and easy 15 in 8 minutes shooting 5-7 from deep and there will be a handful of games that helps us win. Remember Austin Rivers? Like that only once or twice a month

Not sure why anybody would feel bad for Kemba. Dude got his max deal. And the 16 mil the knicks will pay in over 2 years was close to the amount he gave up to be here. So he got his money, nothing to be sad about. Also, Kemba is 6 ft on a good day. 6 ft and under SCORING guards don't last too long in this league. And on top of that, all the surgeries Kemba had. It's a no brainer. Rose / Kemba off the bench, playing with our future knickerbockers (IQ and Obi) will be great.

Burks is the closest version of Bullock. And Thibs likes to put Bullock on our best guard, so Burks will move into that roll as a starter. Burks is also a more rounded scorer than Bullock or Kemba. Mark this time as a critical turning point for the knicks season. Burks has been playing well, and sometimes looks like the best player on the team.

Nice low controversial move by Thibs and the FO. Now Kemba will have to address his health and how resting will help the team and him long term, especially during the playoffs, where his experience will be needed.

Yeah Kemba is going nowhere and will probably be back in the rotation in a couple months. It’s a long season and injuries happen all the time

Burks is just like Kidd was for us that season. He’s a hybrid 1/2 who is a leader on the court and smart as hell. He can bring up the ball, catch and shoot, drive and give help on D

With knowing Thibs and how he hates change this must have been a tough decision. Even if it does not work out Thibs got my respect for trying something new other than continuing to force the worst 5 man lineup in league history.

This is good news, it’s sad because kemba used to be great and because of injury he lost his quickness and ability to finish at the rim both were a huge part of his game.

He’s still a nice insurance piece in case our pg’s get hurt. Hopefully he takes the news and is all in on the team.

Gotta trust in Thibs. He sees things we do not in practice and in slowed-down game film. Wonder if Randle voiced issues playing with Kemba?

Burks is really good. The team lost to a good team but Burks is looking like a difference maker.

disagree... Thibs loves aggressive players and has a good history of small guards playing very well for him. I think they tried but the film doesnt lie... Kemba cant hang and cant shake.
