The Golden State Warriors are concerned about the status of Andrew Wiggins this season for home games as he continues to plan to not receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The city of San Francisco requires full vaccination to be allowed indoors for entertainment.

Sources believe the NBA will grant Wiggins a religious exemption.

The San Francisco Department of Public Health said it would not comment on Wiggins’ specific situation unless he is granted a religious exemption from the NBA.

“We are actively addressing the matter of requests for religious exemption from vaccinations across many industries and will work with our business and entertainment community on next steps,” the San Francisco Department of Public Health said in a statement. “We will provide further clarification on this topic.”

Wiggins would forfeit more than $350,000 for each game he is forced to miss.

The Warriors recently connected Wiggins with an Oakland doctor who understands issues surrounding vaccine hesitancy. Wiggins remains unmoved in his decision against vaccination.

Though seems like the get out clause will be to claim religious exemption

The covid thing as a whole doesn't seem like it's going anywhere anytime soon, earlier this yr 7 of the yankees vaccinated players/staff tested positive..

....I don't think all of our players are Vaccinated, and there has been multiple players in THE MLB

Why pretend you know ****?? They are all vaxxed. Even Frank. YOu said Frank Would never play in the NBA.

I had my covid doubt until you said your not. Then I was sure the Vax was the best move. I hope you don’t get sick. would not wish that on anyone.

I think this is the right thing to do, just hope it doesn't backfire- I worry about it escalating with some some sort of giant lawsuit that jeapordizes the policy state-wide, though I'm no lawyer so I'm probably worrying unnecessarily. Wonder if the NBPA kicks back eventually too?

I’m very happy they are all set. The Knicks are a group of low maintenance players who are just focused on winning together without any distractions. I can only imagine the headache of dealing with Wiggins, kyrie etc in these circumstances. The media would crush this team yet again.

Religious zealots have the “God controls all” and science in the past offered to explain much that we did not know. Thus, God becomes less relevant and a threat to organized religion. Especially those orthodox. Jonathon Issac has gone this more evangelical route and its his own personal thing. But keep it to ones self. These guys use their platform to do all kinds of “gods work” which is fine but just do the work instead of the recruitment thing.
Again, I don’t mind Kyries idiocy becuase he is only relevant as a player and I enjoy watching him play. Im not into the wrestle mania thing of good guy or villain thing. The guy off the court is a clown. On the court he is incredible. MY choice.
My views on the vax is simple. YOu can do what ever the phuck you want but if you engage in society, culture and the economy then you have to put the safety of others first. Thats me. I’ll save a childs life and risk my own. I vax to protect my self and others. I put my body at risk to do so. Yes, some people will have adverse affects. Some get covid and don’t have any problems.
They see it as “Im ok, phuch y’all”. Nope, your telling me you don’t give a rats ass about my autoimmune niece, or my aunt who is on Chemo. But if you dont want the mask, and not participate in the economy, Culture or society thats ok.
The anti mask? For them I have little tolerance. Dumb and selfish.
If wiggins does not mind being tested 2x daily, submits to protocals for employment and adheres to all the rules and PAYS FOR THE EXTRA COSTS ASSOCIATED then thats ok too. Break the rules he should be suspended or fined heavy. Or, he can sit out the year, not get paid and see what happens. His choice. Nobody is forcing him.

By the way, if im out of line, please tell me what religion does not allow for the Vacine? I’d be happy to learn more.

I’m so so so glad Kyrie decided not to come to the Knicks. Thank you so much Kyrie. To top it off, his non-sense is going to completely cost the Nets a a championship. Thank you Kyrie.

Yea i would have taken kyrie if he came with a healthy kd but once kd got a serious injury i did not want that duo. I was looking for any one (or two) of brogdon/harris/randle/middleton/russell. I remain super happy with how that all worked out.

It's his right and his decision, not to take the vaccine but with that comes consequences and his is putting the Nets in a tough spot. Still think he is an amazing basketball player.

California Wiggins has his 41 home games. 2 in Sac and 4 in LA. 4 in NYC. 51 games he can’t play in.
Union droppd the ball on this because the overwhelming majority of its members are Vaxxed.
All coaches and staff are required to be. what about the training staff and coaches who go home to thier kids, or their elderly parents?
League needs to address this better and the Union I get walks the tight rope on this. Wiggins or Kyrie need not be forced into being vaxed. I respect that. They are basically taking an unpaid leave. I doubt the contract has this language in it but it should going forward.

I don’t follow the Warriors or the Nets. We are hyper to any knick articles or opinions so I ask: are others in there own circles being critical of Wiggins and Kyrie about their stance?
