He's been the go to guy his entire young career, since grade school. So he's finally molding his roll into that clutch guy, every team needs.

But what really got my attention, was at Duke. If coach K trust RJ over Zion, in crunch time....That tells me a lot about this dude. So I was quietly hooping we get RJ, because his fire to be great....to do great things in key moments. Not afraid to fail....at such a young age, and didn't just rely on athliticism to score. At first, I was like, they just going to take his left hand away, and he's done. But he still goes left....lol

Now everybody is starting to see what has always been inside him...That take over Mamba mentality. He plays like hes the number 1 man on any team. But now he's mixing it up, and being a playmaker, throwing alleys. Learning when and how to turn that on and off, is something vets learn after 10 plus years. Dude is special....Only scratching the surface!!!!

IT has never been the Destination at no point in the last 30+ yrs. We see guys put the knicks on their (TRADE Wish LIST) and the only time that played out was with MELO, As soon as these guys become FA they go elsewhere.

It's pretty simple: Knicks never had cap space and the players that they did have on the team were deadweight, so it was virtually impossible for FAs to flock. As well, the team sucked, so why would a player go to NY when there were other destinations that were equally as desirable (ie LA).

Walsh had cap space $40+ mill

Phil had Cap space $40+ mill

Mills Had cap space $80 mill

Leon had cap space $35+ mill

At this point I just think we need to make a major trade as opposed to relying on FREE AGENTS

It's good to have the cap space to facilitate trades, but even that didn't work out last off season.

I do think RJ and Randle is a good Tandem to build around.

Sac kings having FOX and Haliburton (2 PGS), maybe they would take Toppin and Knox for haliburton and a late 1st

The point was NY a destination because of good vibes this season. Its about projection going forward not regurgitation of the past. The whole thing about MIlls and the being “conservative” is the thing that gave us Randle. We got an allstar via free agency and its the best kind. BEFORE THEY BECOME ONE! Like a lot of things that is lost on you.
Consider before burning Toppin, Knox and a pick on Halliburton maybe we just draft our own?

The goal of most trades is to come away with the best player. Sac does not do that. What’s your take on OBI or Knox?

NY has always been the destination for players to come. KP til this day, still talks about NY and how much he enjoyed the city. So NY will always be an attraction. But this year, it's a different vibe with more hope and a .500 record and defensive ranking to prove it. We are currently a legit destination for players who either believe in Thibs defensive phylosophy or they are excellent offensive players looking to sharpen up their defense. We are a young group of fighters....Something we haven't had in 30 years. So to hold on to the past right now is pointless, during a transition time from trash to being a playoff team, all in 1 years turnaround.

Players see the same things we see. The light is finally at the end of the tunnel. We have cap space, money, a compitent front office and still have an owner not afraid to spend money. We are in a good spot right now. Enjoy it.

Can't even say Allan Houston because he was a role player when he signed here

Amare was the biggest Health risk in the entire NBA at the time he signed here

Even Randle, who was consider a 2nd tier (allan houston) type role player,

Most stars don't want this stage...

At this point I would be happy with 2nd tier players like allan houston and Randle who want to win at all cost

That’s the beauty of flexibility. Hitting on a stud draft pick would be the best case scenario as the cost would be low, see RJ. After that signing a FA would be the best case scenario since assets wouldn’t need to be given. After that you can expire trades which hopefully being dealt from a position of strength which make sense for the current situation.

Knicks have put themselves in a position to be able to improve at all available routes possible given the NBA structure. Just have to make the correct decisions based on what’s available and presented before them. If that means making a trade or not because the value isn’t worth it. Or signing a FA or not. So be it
