Oak said Dolan offered to retire his number but he refused saying it was a ticket selling scheme. Knicks need a ticket selling Scheme?

The players who have their jersey numbers retired include: Walt Frazier (10), Earl Monroe (15), Dick McGuire (15), Bill Bradley (24), Willis Reed (19), Dave DeBusschere (22), Dick Barnett (12) and Ewing (33).

Does Oak belong in this group?

Oak made his bed. No one else made it for him. Gotta sleep in that bed now.

But on the real, oak could have been around MSG in a major capacity if...he wasn’t too busy being oak.

Oakley is like a scorned lover and he was scorned by the Knicks and Dolan when they traded him. He never got over it.The Knicks will never retire his number. I can think of 20 ex Knicks ahead of him.

The funny thing about Oak is in spite of his tough guy image he is also very sensitive. And I don't mean sensitive as far as crying during chick flix, but sensitive in terms of viewing the slightest thing you do that he doesn't deem supportive of him, you're on his bleep list for life.

Is that what this was all about? A trade from over 20 years ago? I love Oak but it was one of the smartest trades this franchise ever made

Is there something else? Did Dolan promise Oak an assistant coaching job and not come through?

Again, Oak is very sensitive and probably thought (based on his style of play) he gave his heart and soul to the team and was rewarded for his efforts by getting traded. Oak is a human contradiction. He would be the first to talk about things being business and not personal, yet he takes things so personal. Hard dude to deal with.
