In his 3rd year he exploded.

man thats a great compare.. I also think he fell after getting hurt his senior year? Could be wrong about that, but he was pretty polished 4 year player coming out of school. 3rd year he started and has been a walking bucket ever since

I preferred Halli over Toppin, but could see the logic of why the Knicks went after Obi. No one knew that Randle would start beasting this year for us, so a talented young PF with some range on his shot looked like a good fit to take his spot. Meanwhile, Halli would have displaced one of our then hopefuls at the PG position.

Honestly.

Taking Toppin was a mistake. If you don’t have a point guard that can get him the ball or any spacing he’s essentially useless. You don’t take the 8th pick in the draft to be a dribble hand off machine.

We are doing the same thing with Mitch. He could get 12pts a game just in pick and rolls but he’s doing the same thing. Hand offs at the top of the key.

I disagree way too early to make that call. He has missed almost half the games the Knicks played this years with injury and has had limited minutes because Randle has had an all star season. Gotta give the kid time to find his groove

Exactly, even if he dosent pan out which he will, you still make that pick. He was clearly the most talented pick available and it’s only a matter of time before he shows it.

What’s Obi’s talent? I’m curious. He can’t dribble, has zero post moves, can’t move laterally and doesn’t body anyone.

He’s athletic and can dunk. So is DSJR.

He is going to work hard. There is no doubt about that. Has a good attitude and is a great dude. But honesty what does he do well.

He was not a better pick than Halliburton. That was our biggest need. IQ is awesome but he’s a scoring guard.
