May want to consider he might be in effect helping Quick with some mentorship? Or is that just to justify expensive older players on OTHER teams? LOL

I think they will or can help each other. I'm sure Payton will try and step his game up, with Quickley on the rise. Now DSJ on the other hand....his services are not needed.

It appears to me that IQ should be helping EP. Kids got a pretty good knack for running an offense. If anything, they want IQ hanging with Toppin for a bit to generate chemistry.

No slam dunk competition this year?

I know it might not be a popular opinion, but I think that Elfrid Payton is solid. He is consistent, rarely has off games and he is having a career year so far under Thibs scoring wise to boot.

Yeah he is not a top PG in this league, but he always plays D and breaks down the defense. He is a great backup PG's in the league. Playing on a team friendly 4.7 mil deal. While I don't like that he is our starter, I do believe he is an asset to our team. Filling a position of the greatest need right now.

The minute Elfrid came into the league with that dumbass haircut and kept it for a couple of years tells you all you need to know about his decision making

He did get rid of it. Isn't that a sign he's maturing?

Would be very unfortunate for Julius Randle. It’s still early but he’s been making a case to be an All star reserve this season. Would do wonders for his confidence in how far his game has come. Wonder if I’m the event the cancel all star game they still announce the team anyway?

I think there will still be a vote, but no game.

Still feel Payton fits best with starters. And that he has been the most consistent of our PGs. Many do not realize that a main reason Quick has been able to excel is that he has the freedom to be a main option in the second unit. Where he does not need to worry about Randle's or RJ's touches. Payton is good at knowing when Randle or RJ have it going and can still function well around that. Quick is definitely better offensively but feel that, for now, Quick is better suited in the second unit.
