I am 100% fine with all of that and where we are. Toppin and Quickley might be really good NBA players but its not likely they are next year. RJ and Mitch are starters that need to take big steps forward but I think most expect to see some of that continue. Nobody knows what to expect from Knox/Frank/DS/Iggy but I do expect with some good coaching and the developmental staff we have in place for some of these guys to show they belong. This isn't the worst team in the nba not even close. Obi isn't the typical rookie he's 22 and already has an nba body and polished offensive game. I expect him to contribute immediately, hopefully as a starter, and possibly even compete for ROY. If Frank and Mitch get enough run this can be a good defensive team. They finished 17-27 last season once they got rid of the stiff Fizdale and they improved the roster. |

Kmart was smaller than Obi and a much better defender. He was even a good defender during that 2012 season when he had been gone from the nba for years and we literally signed him off the street. I don't remember Kmart ever being an outside shooter. Obi can shoot. 40% from 3. I'll take an offensive scoring threat stretch 4. |

Time will tell... all I can say is that strength isn’t as important as it was. I’d say ‘fast twitch’ is more important. If he can be a stretch four that can also be a bully on the perimeter... to me, that’s the modern 4 dream. That said I’m just a big fan of his DLeethal wrote:

Skill wise Diaw could score a variety of ways (post, drive, shoot the 3) and Diaw was great at passing. He wasn’t a point forward because he didn’t initiate offense but passing wise he was up there. They are around the same size too Yep that is exactly what Obi could be for us. Obi’s passing as a big is what really makes him special but he’ll have a good overall offense. The only real difference is Diaw was good at defense when he was younger The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away
