Revolving door
How so???
Overpay and/or give preferential treatment in trades, free agency, the draft, to CAA clients. Go back to CAA, post-Knicks. You asked.
If it happens, losses pile up, Rose's name is tarnished and CAA lose all connections with the Knicks for a long time. It's not good for business.
As a front office exec in the NBA, yes it would be. As a superagent who prioritizes CAA clients, no. Dont believe other teams would care because its Dolan, and the Knicks.
It bears repeating that I dont believe that's Rose's mindset. Just answering a question.
I agree but I don't see someone willing to be loathed by the biggest city in the US just to favor his former agency for a few years and in the process losing all connection with said team for money. It doesn't make sense. They didn't need Rose in the Knicks FO to place their agents. And if Dolan has only a fairly competent lawyer, Rose's contract should prevent him from doing exactly that or be subject to lawsuits.
Doubt most of the players signed would raise eyebrows. They would have some pedigree, some case to be made for them being a Knick. Might be the sheer volume of CAA clients that is noticeable.
Right now there have been enough CAA clients brought in early on, to wait and see how many more are added to the roster. And if that affects the wins and losses.
If Rose left the team in a better place than he found it. Even slightly, while leaning heavily on CAA clients. Went back to CAA for a big payday. I doubt he would have trouble showing his face in NY. Maybe he could have done even better without all the CAA clients. No one would really know for sure.
I believe Rose wants to wear one of those monster 10lb NBA championship rings, more than he wants $$$$. If I were in his situation, I would feel the same way.
Im glad to hear Thibs has no intention of tanking. Better chance of the cream rising to the top. CAA client, or not.
