Wonder if that would bring back a 2nd rounder or two

Any 2nd rounders we get, we couldnt move right away. But it would free up other picks to be moved. We're in pretty good shape as far as picks. Even a surplus. Maybe Rose is thinking of trading up.

Huh? Why?

Thought you could'nt move a draft pick (pre-draft) you just acquire via trade. Can never remember those rules.

I hope it means we use 2 or 3 picks to move up in the mid/late teens. We can't draft 4 rookies this year and 3 next year. We have already a lot of young players to develop. If we could grab Okoro at 8 and a good shooter around 15, that would be great.

Agree. We have plenty of picks. Forget how many picks Ainge had when he was at peak draft picks. He used them to make deals, Rose might also use them to swing trades. For stars.

Well its interesting isn't it. The NBA is almost certain to enforce a lot of divisional competition keeping travel minimal.

So that can potentially dampen the outbreaks of covid that inevitably will occur.

More interestingly, what does that mean for team construction. If teams out west are exclusively playing teams out west then *that* schedule, no matter how abbreviated, is going to be grueling. The older the roster, the more taxing the competition. There's less wiggle room for "load management".

There are unintended consequences at play with just a few weeks left to recalibrate rosters and expectations.

Some team or players may look at this turn of events as an opportunity to unexpectedly grab a ring. Teams overweight with veterans may have to rethink their strategy. And as numerous sportswriters are surmising, both Westbrook and Harden are uneasy with their prospects in Houston. And this is playing out in many places.

When big ticket player movement may be a tsunami in a week or so, its inevitable that the Knicks who have been thus far managing and dampening expectations will be in the middle of one or more of these. All roads lead through NY.

A package of Randle and DSJ or Knox plus another expiring contract (Ellington) would be a good trade for both the Knicks and Rockets

Rockets save roughly $80 million in salary and cap space. Plus they get Randle who is a double-double low post scorer and rebounder who I think would work well with Harden. Harden can take his 50 shots per game and Randle could simply stay in the crease to get rebounds and put backs

Knicks get Westbrook. His decline is coming soon but he has about 2 years left playing at a high level. Westbrook, RJ, Mitch, Vassell or Nesmith, Frank, Dotson and a free agent stretch 4 like Morris or Carmelo probably gets the knicks to the playoffs in the East

Westbrook for Randle and a low pick? That might work.
Upside is he has two more good years and fun to watch while we build around him.
Down side he is Devon Williams on crack.

Isn't Deron Williams on crack just regular Deron Williams on the Brooklyn Nets?

Would Boston trade with a division rival?

https://empiresportsmedia.com/new-york-knicks/kevin-oconnor-knicks-interested-in-celtics-gordon-hayward/

Kevin O’Connor: Knicks interested in Celtics’ Gordon Hayward

It appears the New York Knicks are trying to acquire not only one but two stars in what is shaping out to be a quick rebuild under new team president Leon Rose.

On the heels of multiple reports coming out from New York that the Knicks have weighed on trading for Houston Rockets’ star Russell Westbrook, another star looms on the horizon.

Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer came out with another bombshell: the Knicks are interested in Boston Celtics’ Gordon Hayward.

The real reason he left Chris Brickley

I agree. Westbrook turned 32 yesterday. I think Carmelo's ship has sailed though.

Sign C. Wood. You got a puncher's chance at winning some games.

HELL YES. $4M 1 year contract and if he finds a rhythm, he is gold at the trade deadline
