I am about 70% there that this line up will actually happen.

PG: Paul
SG: Barrett
SF: Vassell/Okoro
PF: Carmelo
C: Robinson

Yup makes perfect sense. My biggest question mark is really at the PF position.

Same

To be honest I would typically agree Melo would be a shoe-in if things didn't go so well for him in Portland. I think he may not want to mess up a good thing, but you never really know.

I think it’s going to come down to money. If the Knicks offer Melo a 2 or 3 year deal at MLE as opposed to Portland offering only a one year deal I think he’d pick the Knicks

Melo loved being here. He gets to finish his career as a Knick in the spotlight. If the Knicks trade for Paul that could certainly entice him to come back

Best SG pick at 8
FVV

Julius was shooting .462% in March in the last six games. The team started to get it.

Add FVV & Thibs & I think you have a competitive group that can in theory & healthy, aim for the last spot in the play offs. Bench obviously is a giant question mark. I'd love to keep Portis (I was maybe the only fan) and Mo Harkless, but not at their money. Frank & DSjr can compete for back up PG minutes. They're both of an age where they have to put up or head to China.

DSJ/Frank have been fighting for minutes their entire knick career, and it hasn't made them better or more competitive, one of them as to go.

I don't see mitch as a starter unless you have multiple reliable 3 point shooters, and most teams are playing small ball. Mitch and Randle wont work, that has been confirmed

They've been fighting through injuries more than each other for PT. This is likely the healthiest both have been since being drafted. Looking forward to seeing what they've been working on.

They both have had a stretches of good health, and still nothing, only to end up hurt again at some point.

They need define roles where they are not looking over at the bench waiting to get pulled after a few mistakes.

Frank hasnt been able to handle more than 20 mpg since being drafted. Recurring groin issues since before his first NBA game. Smith jr, injuries since Dallas. A few weeks here and there, a few minutes here and there isnt enough.

Its been either conditioning issues with them, or injuries. Dont believe they will ever have this much time off to get right..again. Im guessing they're both in the best condition of their respective careers.

No guarantee that this will result in both players turning the corner. The conditions though have never been better. Wrong time to give up on them. Unless some team blows the FO away with an offer.

Frank’s role should be as a defensive stopper coming off the bench. The guy can guard 4 positions effectively

I have changed my line-up guess (as I will many, many times) before Jan 1

C Robinson
PF Randle
SF Gallinari
SG Barrett
PG Augustin
6th Vassell

or it's possible we play smaller with the same 6 (but not as likely right away)

C Robinson
PF Gallinari
SF Barrett
SG Vassell
PG Augustin
6th Randle
