Don't mind the trade as Conley is close to expiring and gives us stability at point

I'd love Conley if we feel like VanVleet isn't realistic. Honestly randle for Conley is a dream scenario. He's a great fit with RJ and would provide great leadership and stability on a 1-year contract.

Maybe they'd do it as its saves them $16mil next season. Wonder if conley's playoff resurgence changes things

This would be a good deal for us IMO. Conley is solid choice to play alongside the guys you want to develop, like Barrett. Great veteran presence with commitment to defense. Taking on that salary isn't really an issue for us. I prefer this to the Chris Paul deal, I think.

Me too, his salary is completely off the books after next season, where as CP3's deal is higher and a year longer.

The salary only matters to me if we have a serious shot at Greak Freak, which seems like fantasy at this point.

Worse than us having no shot at the greek freak is his landing spots could be: Miami Heat (think Riley's plan is Butler, Oladipo and Giannis), Dallas Mavs, Golden State (they'd have to trade whoever they draft this year, along with Twolves 2021 pick and Wiggins)

The worst scenario would be if Dallas gets Giannis for KP straight up. I would probably just go shoot myself then, if only I had a gun.

Justin Holiday wants to go back to the knicks, the front office wants him too! His price range is said to be alittle north of the mid-level exception.

Yeah I like holiday. I also see them bringing Reggie back though. That 4 million option is cheap. Reggie can shoot, defend a little and was known for being a good locker room guy. I expect him to be back.

Justin is a great guy, but he is not an upgrade over Bullock and not part of the future. I guess we are giving up on Dot?

I don't think you can have enough 3 and D swing men- surprised he wants back, I thought he'd soured on us when Phil (or was it Mills?) decided to let him walk (even though he could have been kept very cheaply)- it was an odd decision at the time

Yeah, I don't get it. When do we get to ask, Does this make sense?

No idea what wholesale changes the Knicks will make between now and start of next season but the Knicks got like 7 PG/SG/SF already under contract. But lets think about adding a 32 year old SG who has had exactly 1 season where he shot over the average for 3pt% and is not really that good of a defender?

This from that Hawks guy:

MIN is looking at: Ball, Wiseman, Deni, and Ant. They are listening to calls and making calls. So far, the marketplace feels their cost is much too high. I heard one team that stood out was Toronto who had reached out to us about the pick if we landed it a couple weeks back. It seems like they have an interest. Toronto is interesting because the talk out of Toronto is FVF is available if you are willing to pay more than Toronto wants by a good margin and you are offer a starting job and a face of the franchise role. PHX, NYK, and several others are in.

I can never remember how reliable his intel is, but I won't link to it because he's getting interest from other boards linking there and it's probably better they get kept low-key in case they are legit!

Had to read this a few times over to get it, but ALT is proposing to trade up to #1 to perhaps take homegrown Anthony Edwards and put him next to Trae Young? Hawks have a bunch of picks coming their way

Interesting on VanVleet. My thought for him has always been if he wants a new challenge of a bigger role since he’s already won a title. Phx and ATL can’t offer him roles beyond what he has now as a secondary ball handler. Detroit and NY seem like his best options. Detroit has his old coach and can offer him the face of the franchise role with less pressure than NY. The Knicks obviously offer greater reward with greater risk.

Maybe Fred wants to be paid for all his hard work.

Victor Oladipo might be the superstar that the front office might target this offseason:

From knicks film school:
Staying in Indiana for a moment, fresh off reports of an unsettled locker room and one Eastern Conference executive betting that the Pacers trade two-time All-Star Victor Oladipo before next season, I heard from a league source that “he wants out,” and that there are whispers of the Knicks being a potential trade partner.

What package will you be willing to part with for Oladipo?

Oladipo is coming off a rough season, Even during the restart he looked a shell of himself.

As someone who is still recovering from quad surgery, almost a year later. Oladipo might still be recovering from his surgery as well. Big Oladipo fan, knew he was drafted too low. Would be very thorough about Oladipo's health, if mgmt is interested in a trade.

Because of the health issues, it might be a buy low situation.

Plus, can we be sure he didn't just have a fluke year after being traded to the Pacers? He looked awesome one year out of his whole career, and is coming up for 30. Plus he had such a bad injury I don't think he'll recover. If he's free, I'd take a chance, but he won't be (plus I think Miami will pay for him). I'm not enthusiastic about him at all

To me he would have to be a buy-low, because even before he got hurt he had a drop off from his peak season. So not really sure what he is right now.
