Rose is a longtime agent and currently works for CAA.

Ian Begley reports that William Wesley is under consideration to have a role with the Knicks. Rose and Wesley are longtime associates.

Wes has massive connects all over

omg like you know. WE are going to have a $150mm payroll full of CAA 30 year old retreads, make the 7th seed and amoebas like you will be dancing in the streets talking about winning culture

what was the other option you wanted?

Give up all our draft picks to the raptors?

I'm very familiar with wes because i did my research on him yrs ago, when all the big name players and rappers like Jay z, Drake, Kanye praise the hell out of him, I wanted to know who he was

Go do your homework on Wes he is not a joke

Knicks1248, how can you hate Mills so much and be OK with this move? These are the guys responsible for pushing Mills on us in the first place.

(Donnie Walsh) resigned three years later, fed up with the incessant meddling by owner James L. Dolan and his advisers, including CAA (Creative Artists Agency) and the ubiquitous power broker William Wesley.

https://www.thescore.com/nba/news/453871

Since then, CAA has only dug its tentacles deeper. The agency represents Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith, coach Mike Woodson, assistant general manager Allan Houston and director of player personnel Mark Warkentien. Wesley played a role in Mills’ hiring last fall.
OMG this is amazing. No way knicks1248 can respond to this... it would destroy him at an atomic level

I would have preferred someone who knew the sport better.. maybe played in high school or something. I was against using picks to hire ANY one and I posted that.

Fingers crossed he builds a good team. I wont hate until. That being said this looks really stupid on the surface.

Isiah was really connected too

Rose grew up in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and attended Cherry Hill High School East, where he played basketball and was later inducted into the school's hall of fame

No, just the optics. We as fans have been beaten down so much that we look at things in terms of the benchmark of Mills and Isiah.

You know, like, Knicks are an OK team this year, at least we aren't the worst team like last year, right?

He has a proven track record of negotiating great deals.

For his players. Now try that from an team perspective it’s gonna be a whole lot different to negotiate a fair deal. Another bad hire the old lets use the connections game. It has never worked out for the Knicks.

I hate this lazy 'timing' argument. It's just to **** on the Knicks.

We fired Mills at the wrong time because it was two days before the deadline.

- As if you want that guy you dont trust anymore to have power to make franchise altering decisions on his way out?!

Now we hire a guy right before the deadline and its the wrong time.

Because why would you want him having any input on this franchise at this time?

Really makes no sense to me. This is good timing. Have Rose sign off on any deals. Don't give him 6 months free.

He knows how to negotiate. He knows how the game is played. He's an insider. He has contacts all over.

Dont think there will be a formal hire, so the input stuff won't really happen.

But you could have had full months of looking around and getting best fit for President position which isn't happening.

There were no good choices.

if this is the guy that Dolan wanted I have no problem with this. The last time the Knicks were any good all the important players came from CAA. also, the Warriors and Lakers hired former agents and I would trade our situation for theirs. This guy represented some of the best players alive. You do that by being able to sell and being able to identify young talent early. You don't make any money by representing someone AFTER they make their money. You get paid by representing talented players as soon as they're eligible. Then you hope they don't fire you before they sign their UFA deals. He could suck but even if he does I bet he is way better than Mills

CAA has had a long history of influencing the Knicks with results that ending up with us giving up lottery picks for Andrea Bargnani. You telling me using those picks for Majiri wouldn't have been a better?

I’m at the point where I know the organization top to bottom. He can negotiate that is fine but what does he know about team building? Is he going to leave that up to the GM and not meddle we have Dolan for that. Let see wTF happens I’m open for whatever they do. I was hoping for proven.

This is like saying you don't want a certain player on your team because he always kills the Knicks.
If you're telling me we hired a guy who used to screw us over then i'm good with that because he's our guy now and he'll screw others over.
