Fish, I will agree that if Ariza gives us what Shandon has, I will be happy, but that is ONLY because he is 19, and it is his rookie year. He will only get better, while Shandon (closing in on 31) is currently as good as he is gonna get.

The reality of the situation is that there is no way the Knicks are gonna toss 24 million dollars at Shandon Anderson in a buyout. It's much more likely they try to deal him in a similar manner to how they got rid of Spoon. A swap where they get a low grade talent with a bad contract in return (but possibly one that can be bought out, a la Amaechi). How about something like Shandon for Wahad, who's more than willing to sit on the IR and collect his check (which is slightly less than Shandon's, with the same amount of years). Or maybe Shandon and Mooch for Lamond Murray and Alvin Williams. The Raps get out from Williams long term deal and take on two players they might be able to use. Meanwhile we got Lamond Murray's short term deal which we can buyout and let expire.

Shandon for Wahad won't work because if Wahad can't come back, a big portion of his remaining salary will be paid by insurance, so DAL is better off holding onto him...they have no need for another swingman anyway w/Daniels, Howard, Finley & Stackhouse already on the roster.

Shandon and Moochie for Lamond Murray and Alvin Williams benefits TOR since they would get some cap relief in the deal, but do the Knicks want to take on even MORE longterm salary of 2 mediocre players just to get rid of Shandon? we don't need Alvin Williams since we have Jamal Crawford, & Lamond Murray is a less athletic version of Shandon...i'd rather let Moochie's contract come off the books next year & let Shandon ride pine for the next 3 instead i think...maintaining roster flexibility is more important than taking on more bad contracts just to unload 1 unhappy player...since that deal doesn't really improve the roster, i don't see the point in that one

besides, TOR is presently concerned about trying to keep Vince Carter...if they make any trades, it will be to try & improve their team...somehow i don't think by trading for Shandon & Mooch, it would help their cause any.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Look, I hate Shandon on this team. I see him I see Layden. That makes me want to puke. But Shandon (like Houston) is a perfect example of how money changes people's perception. Shandon was an excellent role player for those good Utah teams. In Houston he average 11/4.5 and Rudy T loved his hustle and game. Rudy T also said while he loved his game he would rather cut him than pay what he's asking. In steps Layden and the rest is history.

You are backing him then stabbing him at the same time.

Yeah Shandon is a hustle player.....I agree but dude is one of the dumbest players in the history of the game. You are not winning anything with Shandon playing more than 20 minutes a game. His jumper is all over the place. Especially the side of the back board....I could shoot circles around him. He'll dribble off his foot or pass the ball to someone elses foot.

Say what you want about him....nothing excuses the 4pts per 29 minutes he averaged in 4 playoff games.

Another thing guys are talking about is how Isiah is a nut bannishing a guy that makes 24 mill. Well what happened to Abdul-Wahad? He's still making about the same as Shandon and hasn't played consistant minutes in years......no one cares about him. I happen to think he can play if givem the time and is in fact better than Shandon.

Isiah wants to win and he acknowledged the fact that the Knicks can't win with him on the team. KT is another one. KT talks more about his stats than actually winning games so he needs to go too.

I'm all in the Isiah Kool-Aide.

Isiah is playing a game of chicken. He is telling Anderson that he can either not dress for game for three years, or accept a reasonable buyout and play for another team.
