what is our sample size here? Mudiay, Kadeem Allen, Trey Burke, Frank, DSjr... these have been Fizdale's chess pieces. I get that Fizdale sucks, but folks are in for a rude awakening when the next coach comes here and his "system" stinks also.
It can't be any worse than what Fizdale has done.
Nets, Warriors, Pelicans, Wiz, Hawks, Magic, Piston, Bulls, Hawks, Cavs, Hornets, Kings, Trail blazers, Thunder and Grizz fans are probably saying the same thing about their coaches.
Noooo...I've been lurking in Grizzlies boards and most agree that Fiz is a cool guy, but had to go. Brooks also doesn't get the same level of hate with the Wiz. Haven't followed the Hawks, Nets, Magic, or Warriors, but I can guarantee the coaches of those teams don't generate the same level of disgust or scrutiny from their fanbases.
Point was, winning solves everything and losing creates plenty of finger pointing. Easiest target is always the coach.
This!!!!! Most teams in the NBA run the same stuff...Mostly 5-out-open-paint offense for drive and kicks and high pick and rolls. most of the intricate sets will be run out of time outs and the beginning of each period. During the Sac-town game, the Kings didn't run anything special! Fox penetrated at will, collapsed the defense and either finished himself, kicked it out for Heild and dropped it off to their center. We dont have the guard or shooters to play that style consistently. The NBA is a players league but its All Fiz's fault
I honestly don't get the point or logic of your post.
Is it that most fanbases should just chill because they don't have Harden or Giannis or Lebron?
Fans at least have a right to expect that the coach will get the most out of the roster he's given, whether that's win games or develop players
Coaches do matter. Budenholzer inherited a team and added 16 wins (no real player adds last year) Boston lost Kyrie and Horford but they're kicking ass.
We are worse than last year. Last year had a lot of new faces too. Most were rookies or retreads. This year we supposedly have 70MM+ of professionals plus DSJ
Coaches matter and ours sucks, as does our FO.
You don't get it because you missed the point...

Where did I imply that we should chill and wait for a generational talent
I did mention Fox. Fox aint a generational type player, but was the 5th pick in the draft, and is a lead guard that plays down hill which is desperately missing for the moment in our line up at the moment. He's the type of talent that will be available to us if we continue to rebuild and land a top 5 pick.
Rebuilds are ugly. Did you catch any of the Sixers games when they were in rebuild mode for years? Rebuilds include tons of ugly losses, something our idiot owner can't stomach, years of uneven rosters as you purge and evaluate players and try to develop the young ones that will be a part of our future. It's clear, that most Knick fans who claimed they wanted to rebuild for years, cant handle it. The first sign of adversity and people want to fire the coach. Why fire the coach in the middle of a rebuild?

I never said coaching didn't matter. Of course it does, the problem is, the anti-Fiz brigade blames him for everything and rarely holds the players accountable. Check this out: In his first 4 years as the head coach of Philly, Brett Brown won 19, 18, 10, and 28 games. He won 52 and 51 games the last two seasons. Did he all of a sudden learn how to coach or was he given better all star level players which leveled the playing field for him to compete? If he were here, he would have been fired in his second season.
Brad Stevens is kicking ass this year but why couldn't the coaching genius figure out how to make it work with Kyrie? Maybe it wasn't a good fit? You say we are worse than last year. How about we let the season play out then re-evaluate.
