I suppose it has been there to some extent in the past, but now in the ADD/bipolar, twitter blast, hot take, prisoner of the moment, I want it yesterday era of what passes for discourse...ai yi yi! The cruel incessant ripping that the Giants took for taking Jones, for not taking Haskins, for getting rid of Landon Collins etc. was beyond ridiculous. Of course now the same putzes are saying how smart the GIants were and how great Jones is (and not admitting how wrong and off base they were). I was watching ESPN after the second summer league game and some clown was vociferously describing how RJ Barrett was a bust. Fans booing KP as a pick, talk hosts screaming we should have taken Stanley Johnson. Hating on Frank from day one for Phil not taking DSJ (not Donovan Mitchell revisionists) who's really not any more of a prospect at this point. Fire Fiz. The Nets won free agency. The Knicks failed! And so on. Why wait to see what actually happens!
i hear that. it really is a joy to skip all that crap. and it's not hard to do.
personally i love following who the knicks acquire. and how they play on the court. and discussing those 2 topics with other fanatics. and that's it.
stick to what you love.
So don't watch the TV, listen to the radio, read the columns, or post on message boards -- got it!
Varied opinions are ok. But if your informed you can smell the BS. WE don't need to watch Fox or CNN to have formulated our own opinions based on events that actually happen. What people do matters.
Knicks have a bad history and just came off a 17 game season. Worried we can't win with Chasson Randle, Ron Baker, Mario, Mudiay, etc etc.....they not here. we have questions based on facts. Is frank better? Is DSjr gong to play to his ability, is Mitch the real deal in the making, is RJ barrett a future allstar, is Knox, also from good pedigree going to keep getting better.
Same old same old? Hardley. But they have yet to earn the benefit of the doubt. So they don't get it.
If you spent the time meandering through the OTA's and reading Giant hack writers (and I believe only non-connected idiots like me do that), you would have read people backtracking on Jones before even the pre-season started. I think one of the funniest, if not saddest bs side stories in the media related to the Giants is the whole Mike Francessa debacle. Although he's turned into a self-obsessed blowhard on most topics, he was always pretty balanced on the Giants and the Yankees, because he was a fan of both. As opposed to most of the idiots on WFAN who are rabid Mets-Jets-Nets fans and are like listening to NPR radio reporting on Trump or Bush. Now his pathetic "Sports Doctor" floundering in the wake of the "DJ effect" is borderline hilarious.
Frank may work out this season. Fiz has the old Dfense signs being printed up! Comparing him to a freak occurrence like Danny Dimes is not even a valid analogy, no matter how you stretch it. DJ didn't spend two NFL seasons worth of bad history holding a clip board and under-performing and dealing with a cranky groin.
Rj could be Pippen to our poor man's MJ, Randle!
MRob can out-do Divavingis! And for less money! And with less hype! And with no crying fan kid vids!
Every time I hear a snippet of Steven A or some other talking head on the internet whoring for click bait, I'm glad I don't have TV.
As a wise old tennis player on this site has stated several times, Play the Games!
