Can you show me the highlights of Steve Nash when he was 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 years old and being aggressive in the NBA? 5 years.
Anything?
And yeah, I know he didn't start in the NBA til he was 22. And didn't get to 8 PPG until he was 25.
Fucking 25 years old and had 4 years in the league and still couldn't get double digits. Probably should have traded him or cut him or benched him.
i am not the one saying that frank isn't a project. that would be nix.
either the knicks are trying to win games or lose games...either way jack at PG for the season is not the answer. even on the nights he looks good, stamina is an issue.
so why not start frank and play him 30-35 mins. what do we have to lose? at least he gains experience and perhaps could get to elite PG status sooner than 25? what are hornacek, mills, perry waiting for?
if we lose with frank at starting PG at least we get him experience and a good draft pick.
Culture. Winning games. Frank earning his minutes. Being ready for the task. Impact on other players in the starting lineup.
You could have thrown Frank into the lineup day 1 and totally messed up KP, THJr, Kanter, Lee and have a record like Orlando and have everyone ready to kill each other and calling for the firing of the coach.
Waste a year of development for EVERYONE else, Lee and KOQ become untradeable because their stats are down on a really bad bad team.
You can take your blinders off; this is a process not a crap shot. Some times it is better to build a player up then throw him to the wolves.
