You guys keep saying he is only 19,and if that's the case, why are we rushing him. We need to upgrade the position and bring him along slowly. I honestly would like to see how his numbers would look against G league competition.

He's getting good experience in the NBA and defends at the NBA level. He was literally improving each month until January. It was expected that he'd have some kind of tough patch at some point this season as a 1 yr old. Kid can't even grow a beard. I think they're handling him just fine.

Yep, can't believe how impatient some people are being

He is an uncanny ball handler with either hand and can penetrate at will. He gets to the line. He knows how to lead a team as a PG and is a plus offensive player. I know for a fact that he's been working continuously on his body and has played very hard on the defensive end also.
I'm hoping that he can become a Kyle Lowry type for us.

If Burke was everything you said, why was he in the G League in the first place? Because you just described a guy who should be in an NBA rotation.

The only answer is he's nothing as you described.

AND, and this is something no one seems to be addressing - Kanter and Burke played together in Utah. And when they did and were on the floor together, teams roasted them with the pick and roll. I mean gutted them like fish bait, time after time, even teams with a lousy PNR offense.

Should the Knicks give him a shot? Sure, why not. But don't expect much.

Today is the second day of a back to back where we went to overtime. Hopefully we'll get to see a little of what Trey Burke can do today.

Can you show me the highlights of Steve Nash when he was 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 years old and being aggressive in the NBA? 5 years.

Anything?

And yeah, I know he didn't start in the NBA til he was 22. And didn't get to 8 PPG until he was 25.

Fucking 25 years old and had 4 years in the league and still couldn't get double digits. Probably should have traded him or cut him or benched him.

i am not the one saying that frank isn't a project. that would be nix.

either the knicks are trying to win games or lose games...either way jack at PG for the season is not the answer. even on the nights he looks good, stamina is an issue.

so why not start frank and play him 30-35 mins. what do we have to lose? at least he gains experience and perhaps could get to elite PG status sooner than 25? what are hornacek, mills, perry waiting for?

if we lose with frank at starting PG at least we get him experience and a good draft pick.

Culture. Winning games. Frank earning his minutes. Being ready for the task. Impact on other players in the starting lineup.

You could have thrown Frank into the lineup day 1 and totally messed up KP, THJr, Kanter, Lee and have a record like Orlando and have everyone ready to kill each other and calling for the firing of the coach.

Waste a year of development for EVERYONE else, Lee and KOQ become untradeable because their stats are down on a really bad bad team.

You can take your blinders off; this is a process not a crap shot. Some times it is better to build a player up then throw him to the wolves.

The real question is what's the rush? Keep him in the game if he's getting abused isn't going to help him. I have my issues with Hornacek but the way he's handling Frank is not one of them. I think Frank is being handled appropriately thus far.

totally agree. Frank gets in every game. When he's playing poor he gets a quick hook, but when he's playing well coach always seems to give him burn. How this isnt exactly how it should be with a 19 year old player is beyond me.

I agree as well, most of you are under the impression that I don't like frank, but that's not the case at all. If the idea of the development prosses is to feed him more minutes and let him play through mistakes, then trade him, because the only thing he will develop is bad habits.

He just said when he is playing bad he gets the hook.

People respond differently to different things. Some players need that cushion to play more freely and make things happen. Some players need the threat of being yanked to keep them focused. Always about finding which buttons to push on each individual. Can't claim that there is only one specific process.
