We were stuck with him regardless, thanks to phil...Why don't you guys acknowledge this?!
This is a catch 22. The biggest problem Phil has had with melo is that he can't discipline him since Melo has Dolans ear.
So instead of putting us in position to trade him he mailed in it in with badnplau and an ad team killing attitude. What does he care? Phil can't punish him or even reprimand him in public without being painted as the problem himself.
Again, phil rendered himself powerless by handing him the NTC!!! Phil did this to himself...
You are 100% spot on but some people don't want to hear the truth!! Jackson failed massively and most of it was entirely his own fault. Did he get help from the likes of Melo, no of course not but Jackson's commitment was just as questionable as Melo's.
Unlike dudes like sinix, i can be objective and blame both Melo and Phil...Hopefully, whomever takes over will still look to move Melo and rebuild this franchise....But to me, phil is more to blame considering this franchise has turned into a toxic environment.
You know what's toxic to the environment?
Letting a lazy, fat, no defense, iso, 32 year old breaking down Melo go over the head of the guy who is creating and instilling the direction and culture of the team.
Even if you didn't like Phil for the team, if you're a Knicks fan, you should be disturbed by the order and way in which things were done here.
After the draft, after Melo/KP's power play. Absolute disaster.
