Great point. The Kings really want Fox. But I ave heard that Ainge wants Jackson and that he is his type of player on a couple of podcasts. Chad Ford even compared Jackson's intensity loosely to KG's.

We're young but the problem we're young without talent after KP and Willy. No other young player we have is starter material. I know some wanna think that Ron Burgandy could start but if he can it won't be for a while cause he's not even close to be a starter now.

I know there is a contingent who believe he is an actual NBA starter, Im not sure he is an NBA player

Not even sure what this means based on what we saw last year.

Not saying Baker is a 35MPG starter, but you lose a lot of credibility when you say "he is not an NBA player."

Sure you want to stick with that wording?

If you believe the Celtics need scoring...not sure they look to Jackson...more likely Tatum...No?

Jackson might be a better all-around player, but they could really use a front court scorer. Maybe Jackson showed a radically improved J in a workout, but they might be scrambling to find a reliable #2 scorer by the end of the year if they chose to take Jackson.

He is good enough to be a roster player but do I believe he should be a top 10 in the rotation player on a good team? Absolutely not

Danny Ainge is a damn genius, its going to take us 5 years to build a competitive team. This team needs to tank hard next year, we need a number 1 pick type player

Rumor out there today on Fans that Celtics will trade Avery and receive #7 pick from Minnesota and pick Lauri M. This makes
Monk/DS available in addition to Frank N and if There's another trade up top it's feasible that Isaac or Tatum fall to 8.

If Phil can wiggle into a meaningful #8 and secure a # 12 he'd be vindicated in NY as we'd either have a backcourt for years or a quality guard and a sf in Isaac/Tatum.

Sixers are either sending next years lakers pick or the Kings pick in 2019. I don't believe there are any protections on The Kings pick. Also, Chicago is mentioned as possibly trading for #3 from Boston. I assume that means it would be For Butler.

Was pretty sure Boston wouldn't trade down past the 3rd pick. Looks like they might take Josh Jackson after all, or they would have likely kept the first pick, and drafted a PG. If they do take Jackson, then they'll probably give Thomas a big contract to stay at point. Wonder if Phil will put in a call for Crowder?

Im also curious as to what the Lakers will do if they were planning on drafting Fultz? Will they pick Ball now?

Hell, Phil should call up his old buddy Magic and ask what he would take for the 2nd pick, with this latest development. Doesn't hurt to ask. Ainge as well, now that they are closer to us in the draft order.

With Magic back with the Lakers, I think Ball is the obvious pick regardless of the mix signals...Maybe a little gamesmanship by the Lakers, but I'd be shocked if Ball isn't wearing the purple and gold.

Doesn't sound like much, gut I think us falling from 7 to 8 is a big deal...the 8th pick isn't enticing enough to help us jump into the top 5, IMO...

Interesting. Based on reports - its no3 and a protected future 1st going from the sixers. I would try to sneak in there last minute and send Boston - Kristaps - for this years no1, next years unprotected Nets pick, Jaylen Brown and the 2019 Memphis pick. I'm a fan of Porzingis, but I would see how Bullish the market is for Kristaps. Fultz is worth the trouble and a player I forecast as an all-NBA player in 3 years.

Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

Bradley for the 7th pick? Has to be more involved...

Some folks are still upset about the last game. We fell in the lottery from our expected place two years in a row. It didnt matter what the Knicks did on the court. Was those damned ping pong balls, lol.

sorry - but how could we get two number one picks for KP?

Boston is getting the #3 pick this year and a future #1 likely in the lottery.

Even if you're enthusiastic about KP, he ain't that good.

Might the Celts want to balance win now with win later, possibly by bringing in a vet like Melo for spare parts (Crowder) and a future pick (the LA/Sac pick). Win-win.
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

I think Crowder is a better asset than Melo at this point. I couldn't even see the Celtics doing that deal straight up, let alone adding a pick to the mix.

Even if you're enthusiastic about KP, he ain't that good.

Then don't trade him. The notion of what's fair in a trade can and often is quite warped - just check the deal that got the Celtics the number 1 pick in the first place. There's a sharp premium on semi-proven talent on rookie deals, especially for playoff teams looking to get over the hump. Ainge's track record suggests he would preserve his long term assets, but when you're close enough to the top, the temptation is always there.

The Nets were foolish and stupid. Aigne is neither.
