#3 Melo came close to signing with the Bulls when he was a free agent. Chicago gives him another big market (Jordan brand) and he'll make more money with his trade kicker.

In return for Rondo (non-guarantee contract bought out) Valentine & #16 would seem like a no-brainer for the Bulls & Melo... hence why I'd like another asset.

This actually makes sense...at least to me. The only thing is that the only contract would be Melo for Rondo and RoLo. I love RoLo but I would need the 16th pick overall coming back to get this done. I doubt Chicago does it. OR Melo for Rondo, RoLo and Portis...I would also like that.
