They each have 2 years left, so that wouldn't work would it?

If he stays, Cut him. Addition by Subtraction.

Melo isnt getting cut. Worst case is Knicks take Rivers and Crawford. More likely is Clippers find a place for Jamal and send us Rivers and some crappy draft pick

Seriously, why not cut him?

Anthony finished the 2016-17 regular season at No. 418 in the NBA in Defensive Real Plus-Minus. It’s also worth noting that the Knicks allowed 111.1 points per 100 possessions with the 10-time All-Star on the floor.

Of the players who were on the court for at least 1,000 minutes in 2016-17, no player on the Knicks had a worse defensive rating than Anthony.

By comparison, the Knicks had a team-best defensive rating of 104.7 points per 100 possessions with Anthony on the bench. That’s a difference of 6.4 points per 100 possessions, as well as a telling sign of his influence on the defensive end of the floor.

I am trying to verify this....for what its worth most Knicks had a poor rating.

Rose is lower and LT is right behind Melo. So......

could we assign him to Westchester? I'm sure the CBA protects against that type of thing but it would be a nice hammer to hold if it could be done

thanks...the second one is more damaging. The team allows 111 with him and 104 without him.

Its brutal. Absolutely brutal. But lets be fair to Melo. Phil did send mean tweets that might have hurt his feelings?

It would love to see some kind of bar graph:
Melo's defensive effort
(Min)********************-------------------------------------------(Max) overall
(Min)*****--------------------------------------------------------------(Max) post "holds the ball too long" tweet
(Min)**------------------------------------------------------------------(Max) post "change a leopard's stripes" tweet

If he refused to waive the NTC?:

*Play for the knicks.
*Can negotiate a buyout and be a free agent.
*Brand designer towels to wear on his head and sit.
*Or, try to find a team that wants him, will pay for him, and trade an asset in return.

Rose also sucked and even without Melo and Rose's scoring this team was at least improved on D and with the right added Talent and more development of our younger players that is going to be a formula for growth!!!
