We didn't have power last night so I am going to watch the game tonight. Looking at the box score I was surprised to see Randle didn't play. That doesn't make a lot of sense. This is blatantly untrue. Lottery drafted players are locked into their teams for five years under the rookie contract, and before that expires they can be extended or they can become a RESTRICTED free agent, which allows teams to lock them up for another 4 years.

Go look at all the top players in the league and tell me how many were NOT drafted in the lottery. Sure, there are busts, there are players that just become role players, and hey, you might get lucky with a late pick once in a while, but if you want a star, the main way of landing one is via the lottery- the odds are much much greater. That's just a fact, and I don't understand how you keep refusing to see this.

I disagree. It actually doesn't have to take that long to change the direction of a franchise if you can draft well and make smart signings. This summer could be crucial for the Knicks! 3 Picks and Cap Space is a good start and tho this season didn't go as hoped, we did see some young players step up and look like pieces for the future.

Also when you look at all those close losses it's possible that with the right talent they could have a better season next year and start to improve. Of course that depends on exactly what happens this summer.

Another lottery pick this offseason and perhaps a player from EU or some 2nd round luck and we could be one our way to having a legit core of young guys to build around. Still ignoring the most important thing huh? Dolan has brought in another Starphuck name to magically get us out of disfunction. A name who preaches an antiquated system that NO other team plays, few players want to play in and a system that will likely be gone in 2 years, with Phil moving to the ranch. We are teaching our so called young studs how to master Atari while everyone else plays Xbox. Makes sense for their development.

And again...Noah was Phil's guy! Rose was Phil's guy! Not Melo's. Don't think Melo makes roster moves. But do agree, only choice we have is to draft some young blood, trade for young NBA pros with upside and move on from trying to make the post season for many years. So 2001 all over again....yeah!!! Way to go Dolan.

The Knicks are pretty much right in the middle of the league in terms of offense. There are a LOT of non Triangle teams behind the Knicks offensively. It's not the Triangle that really causes the losing. A LOT of the problem is Melo and Rose are our worst defenders and also very weak at producing in the 4th quarter when the game is on the line. All those close losses are due to Melo and Rose not coming thru and producing like the team needs.
