Y you're right. They have good young players. We'll end up where we end up in the draft, would rather see positive development and let the chips land where they'll land. But I still hope the other lottery-bound teams win out :)

Willy and KP both with double figures already
Wish Randle broke the rotation
Want to see him against a better athletic team like Milwaukee

Nice half from Melo n Rose played within team concepts

This is a typical Knicks game from this season in the making

We will play well most of the game have a chance to extend the lead but fail and then come to wire and lose a game in the clutch. Already had a good 12-13 games like this that lead to losses. This has same feel.

Willy has all the makings of another Vucevic or Kanter like impact off the bench
But if he's out starting 5 he needs to improve his D. He does not protect the basket. There are two ways to do that. One is shot blocking the other is getting into spots quick and taking a charge.

Willy/KP can play offense at a high level in this league but to be long term starters as 5/4 Willy has to improve his ability to protect the lane (take charges, hands up, get into spots quick) and KP has to improve his perimeter defense. KP has to get closer to his man he's too afraid of being blown by.

If the longterm plan is Willy/KP as the 5/4,KP needs to get lighter faster on his feet (not heavier and slower) and Willy needs to learn how to get into the paint and take charges. Won't work defensively otherwise

Knicks need to make a call on this and give each player a blue print moving forward

We have virtually no chance of making the playoffs, and we shouldn't want to anyway, and we're benching a guy like Randle after a stellar debut last game. The rest of the season should be all about seeing what we have and developing players like Randle for next year. It makes no sense logging Melo and Rose major minutes.

Looked like we were going to get run out of the building the first quarter.

Clearly the tank thing is not a thing.
