That's a small package to give up for Cousins. Cousins under Pop or Brad Stevens would be better than Tim Duncan in his prime. Sacramento lost that trade.

Everyone said the Lakers got away with robbery when they got Pau Gasol, but Memphis got a franchise center in that trade.

Cousins is repped by Dan Fegan, who is known for "encouraging" his clients to become disruptive to either get a larger contract, get an extension or get traded.

This trade SHOULD be vetoed at the league administration level, I.E. Adam Silver SHOULD veto this deal, but he won't. The Pelicans were basically gifted Anthony Davis as a newly bought franchise and the league is invested in seeing any recently sold/bought franchises become high profile, the more those big ticket/big dollar sale teams win, the more other investors compete to buy the rare franchise that becomes available, which spikes the valuation of ALL FRANCHISES in the league. The NFL understood this when they gave EXTRA picks to the Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars when they first started.

This is a horrible deal for Sacramento. But I don't think they are part of the collusion. Divac and his owner are just dumb. This reeks more of the Pelicans, Fegan and the league administration deciding to keep "tinkering" with the leagues competitive balance like the way David Stern did it.

This is ridiculous. The NBA at times really mirrors a reality show. It's like a soft serve version of the base concepts of American Idol. Who is the most marketable? Who gets the most ratings? Which storyline serves the "Narrative"?

This is not just a bad trade for the Kings, it's a bad trade for the entire league.

I really don't get why people overrate Boogie so much. He can put up numbers - but I'd challenge anyone to find a "superstar" who won less over his first seven years in the league. He's entertaining. But I don't think his game leads to winning basketball. He makes a lot of terrible turnovers and takes a ton of terrible shots and plays absolutely awful defense at times and gets a ton of techs and always antagonizes the refs. Everything that is bad about Melo's game is super sized with Boogie.

Kevin Love?? and its about the roster..Boogie is overrated??..He is the best center in the league...Now Boogie isn't the main go to guy and Davis can float and play anywhere on the court...

I think this Howard Beck column is spot on.

That lottery pick is going to evaporate quickly.

Kings embarrassed themselves with this one. A volume shooter and a mid first round pick. I would have rather had Billy and the Knicks pick over that package.

Letting Isiah Thomas go, this years draft selection, this trade, proving yet again the NBA is littered with morons in front office positions.

For the life of me, they could have got Boston to dance. Bradley and BKs pick made more sense. They would have been able to take out the Cavs and make the finals with Horford and Cousins in the front court with smart and crowder all over Irving.
