I agree, and that's what makes this move so appealing. If DRose gets hurt, we improve our lottery position. If he doesn't (and he plays well) we get our unicorn playoff experience and Melo has his star running mate.
Phil gave himself a win-win move here, all while maintaining maximum cap flexibility for 2017 FA class, one that has lots of riches to plunder. Gotta hand it to him, he's either smart, lucky, or a combination thereof. But me likey.
