It's simple. This is the year of the 2-guard. DeRozan, Batum, Fournier, Beal, Bazemore, the list goes on. You must get one of these guys. Use additional cap space on a stopgap PG. Jennings for a 1-year overpay (i.e. Rondo last year), to rebuild his value, or Chalmers, Lin, etc. Just someone to make the position manageable. Then 2017 is the year of the PG. Westbrook, Paul, or Teague.
Fournier is restricted. Derozan is rumoured to stay with the Craptors, but if he bolts then the Lakers are his rumoured destination. Batum wants to stay in Charlotte. The realistic options are Bazemore (who has mainly played SF this season) and Turner and Lance Stephenson, none of whom can shoot (and neither can Derozan or Batum). Do you really want to max out on a SG who can't shoot?
