Yeah this is incredibly strange to me.

Calderon, buy out and stretch.
AA - make his life miserable so he doesnt re-up.
Gallo\Grant - may get re-inspired - they would be the backups.

This happens when you have an organization run by forwards (phil and kurt) plus a triangle system that values forwards over guard talent

Yea but when the org was run by a tough defensive HOF PG what happened? We loaded up on crappy and soft bigs. Marbury trade aside...

Maybe he doesn't want to play in the d league. It could be that simple. That might be the advice of agent. Especially since he thought he was a knick 2 times via his twitter account

You know I was thinking about his agent's POV on this as well--I would kinda think the opposite, though--you figure his agent would be telling him a DL assignment would be in his best interest. You figure most agents would be 100% pro DL for clients in Wroten's situation, even to score a contract in Europe somewhere if nothing else: "Look, Tony--I know you don't want to go to the DL but you need to show people you can play this game at a high level. We need to get the word out on you--remind people in a big way that you still exist. Plus, we can't sit around forever and wait for Phil Jackson to make up his mind." Something like that.. It is strange, no doubt. Plus, once he does catch on somewhere, there will be extra rust he'll have to contend with. Hopefully that doesn't work against him. Look at the Knicks with Jimmer--they were looking for something right away to justify keeping him (so they say anyway--who knows if they really gave him a legit shot. Jimmer said he worked as hard as he could've). The Knicks need to take their time here--there's gonna be some rust. Gotta look past that. Don't rush to any conclusions.

Can't believe we haven't made a move yet btw. What are we waiting for, some other team to swoop in and scoop these guys up? F that man--we need these guys more than anybody else. I hope we're not squabbling over small amounts of money or playing time. Give these guys what they want (we're talking about a nominal amount of money to play the last 20 games) and tell them they'll play. I mean you wanna take a good look at them now anyway, right? Shouldn't that be the plan at this stage?? Come on--let's go, Phil!

Thats why you need diversity in management....we rarely have any balance during the Dolan era. All of his moves are motivated by team value, business sales and marketing......Boston is doing it the right way. And winning is the best way to sell your service. Phil needs a person on his staff like Isiah who has the scouting talent for dynamic guards....I wonder who on Phils staff saw greatness in MJ and Kobe? Or did they just land on his lap like KP did?

Tony Wroten is no longer Toney Wroten after that injury.

Knicks have been pretty quiet regarding the open roster spot.

...and this is probably why he did not want to play in the DL.

Earlier in the year when he played against the Knicks he had no explosiveness at all, and nothing he did last year for the Sixers, a team with terrible guard play this year, was enough to keep him around.

DL was the natural place for Wroten to get in shape and show he was close to the player he was last year...the fact that he didn't tells you everything you need to know.

He plays in the DL and he gets exposed on the court.

Great moves, but he couldn't finish and missed a wide open layup

And that's what the agent is telling him probably regarding the d league. Also am agent makes money off percentage. He's not making money getting ?% of a d league check

Not sure Porzingis "landed on his lap," I'm thinking its more like Jackson having to pull KP on his lap.

It was a deep draft- he had a number of players on the board who many around here wanted him to take.

I would say that the Bulls were "lucky" to get Jordan (Blazers took Bowie), and Kobe was passed on by a number of teams who probably cringe during the Kobe farewell season because he could have been their guy.

After watching Jose and Sasha all year McCallum would look like Lowry, Frazier like Rondo, and Wroten like Sprewell. Come on, Phil! Get these guys!

wow... totally unfair. After you play the game of your life whats your thought when I shrug it off and say you hit some lucky shots? As a player hows that make you feel? Picking KP took the kind of balls no other GM has shown here. Knock Phil all you want, I have no beef there but don't poopoo the KP pick, that's not being fair at all.

EXACTLY LOL. SMART AGENT!!!

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Just my opinion....but I don't think Phil wanted KP.....He wanted Towns and OK4. Thats why I said KP landed on his lap. I believe Phil would've took any of the top 3 picks ahead of KP, which is why I said Phil got lucky with KP. But what really messed up Phil was having a free agency period before the draft. Phil wouldn't have spent so much money on forwards and centers, if he had KP on his roster. So one of those forwards (Seraphin?) would've been a guard instead, which may have brought some balance.

So I'm not trying to "poopoo" the KP pick, and I really don't know what that means. But I am saying based on how Phil has built this team, he needs more diversity in his staff. Too many yes men, triangle type staff members behind him, with tunnel vision. And yes, I think he lucked up on KP, and would've taken OK4 instead, who can't even find time on a sixers team. Russell would've been is other option, who just became relevant by scoring 39 pts. Phil lucked up on KP, who could turn out to be the most stable pick of the draft and best two way player.
