I'd argue we should've done something like this weeks ago, at least for 1 DL guard. Smith takes the open roster spot; we then waive Vujacic or Amundson and slide White or Kilpatrick into the 2nd spot. That'd give us 2 talented young guards to evaluate for the rest of the year. I think each guy ABSOLUTELY could play and excel at the NBA level...Who knows--maybe one or both prove to be keepers, talented players we could lock up for the foreseeable future on team-friendly contracts. It would boost team athleticism/quickness (think of a 2nd unit that featured Russ Smith/Terrico White/Derrick Williams -- D-Will would finally have a couple of more players to get out and play some transition ball with), give us some more talent to help us make a run at the playoffs, give us inexpensive players to pencil in for next year or good young assets we could include in a deal during the offseason. NO BRAINER!
Awesome post. You nailed it. Kilpatrick is getting a multi year deal with the Nets, White is blowing up and Smith just keeps playing well.
