Had Fish done this all season, we'd still not be a playoff team, but we'd be 3-4 wins better. That's all it is about. We should have finished this season out winning 38-42 games, and will likely fall 5-6 wins short of that.

I'm not expecting this team to win more than 10 games the rest of the season. However, so long as they execute consistently, I'll be happy. Many of these guys will be back next year with the same system and being young they can improve. Porzingis is 20, Galloway is 24, Williams is 24 and Seraphin is 26. Considering we have Grant as well, that's 5 guys that need the rest of these games to get some much needed playing time and understanding of what they need to do to keep getting better in the system.

Things will look different with some rest and then preparation and hopefully and decent addition to the roster. I still believe this team can get back to playing well.

I think so too. I believe we should definitely pull the trigger on a deal with the Bucks. I like Rolo, but I don't see anything he does that Monroe can't do. Monroe is much quicker with his decisions to attack the basket on offense and is a much better rebounder. He can space the floor with the range of his shots and is a good passer. MCW is not a good shooter and we all know that, but he is not slow and as terrible of a defender as Jose. I don't see why some are this reluctant when it comes to the two. Financially it makes sense, and talent wise we would be gaining. If we can coerce them to give us a pick, it would be even sweeter

both players you mention have flaws, monroe is a horrible defender at his position, he doesnt come out to guard anyone on the perimeter, and MCW is a horiible shooter for his position.

If you see how grants lack of 3 point shooting is a major hindrance, why on earth would anyone be targeting a player that has the same issues.

Yes they do have flaws, but they are far better than what we actually have. I actually don't trust Grant with the ball right now. MCW has been in the league longer and knows how to work around his flaws. We need a shot in the arm, and that trade is our best opportunity. The guys I want, we don't have the assets that get them.

I want: Jeff Green, Teague, Holiday, Terrence Jones, and yes, Lance Stevenson. That dude is the combo guard we need in the back court. He is definitely no worse than what we have between Jose and Aflalo. That dude can still ball and NY could definitely bring born-ready back to life. Bus has a short contract, if he doesn't work out, we can always let him go. Talent wise,I am willing to give this dude a chance

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

there are so many things wrong with you trying to say monroe and rolo are comparable, because they're nowhere close. rolo is a much more complete player. but what's really funny is that you say monroe is cheaper. did you forget to do your research again? monroe is making 16.5m this year and rolo is making 12.6m......

He isn't? Last I checked, Rolo's contract is longer than Monroe. And please tell me what Rolo does that Monroe does not. Since you are a savant and think you know better, prove to me that I am wrong. Wait, why can't you do this yourself? I'd like to see you do a bit of research and show us that you know something while at the same time backing it up.

Contract, stats, role on team, advanced stats, etc.

Please help me with your full assessment. Rolo vs Monroe.

Monroe just got brought off the bench last game. Kidd not happy with his play these days.

Oh wow Martin, why are you defending the 4ever brothers? This dude in particular is always trying to put me down as one who has no clue, but he is the one who needs help.

I am not defending anyone, I am asking you to back up your statements.

Monroe is owed a total of $51 million for the length of his contract. He is currently producing 16 points per game all while taking a meger 13 shots, 1 block, 1 steal, 10 rebounds, shooting 75% freethrows, 52% FG

RoLo is owed a total of $56 million. He is currently producing 10 points per game all while taking 8 shots per, 1.4 blocks, .2 steal, 6 rebounds, shooting 80% freethrows, 53% FG.

As you can see, the numbers are analogous; except that IMO, Monroe fits the triangular system better. My reason behind such assertion is because Monroe is quicker at both ends of the court and can stretch the floor; he has more range with his jumper. We are complaining about how slow we start games, and IMO it is all because of Jose and RoLo.

I only want Monroe because we can at least replace Jose with MCW who is a better PG at this juncture. If we can get them to give us a pick for the next draft it would be even better

So you compared the total dollars of 2 players who have different length contracts. Why is that reasonable in any sense?

Also, I'd like you to really think about the assertion that Monroe has more range with his jumper and how that actually relates to what is happening within games.

I am looking at these 2 pages which show both players and how often and how accurately they shoot at distances of 0-3, 3-10, 10-16, 16 to <3 and 3, and it sure looks like they are either even or Rolo has more range on shot attempts.

I've always that that FT% is a good indicator if a player could develop a decent jumpshot. My gut tells me that Rolo has never been put into a position to shoot jumpers (playing next to Aldridge the past years) and never fully developed this aspect of his game, I think that will change after this season; he'll never be his brother but I think next year that jumpshop will be present.

Also, Rolo has been known to be a MUCH better defender.

I'm not into patchwork trades that don't make sense long term.

Jason Kidd just moved BOTH MCW and Monroe to the bench. I am not interested in either.

Everyone recognizes that the Knicks' PG position is not good, most of us also realize that you should make crappy trades just to satisfy a short term need.

So, what are your thoughts on Rolo v Monroe after my feedback?

I was SO glad not to have to watch Grant in the first game under Rambis.

The dude is just of control out there.

It's painful to watch . . .

He's been the most disappointing for me cuz I expected a better rookie season from him. He didn't have to be great just decent. Show some semblance of ability to play at the NBA level consistently so he could be a part of the rotation. Just show some progress. I still have hope for him as a prospect. Just didn't expect him to be this bad so far. Grant still has the court vision and ability to deliver the ball off the drive. He needs to play more confident and work on his jumper.

I prefaced the thread by saying that I would much rather KEEP RoLo, but in order to better the roster he is the only asset we can move to rid ourselves of a guy like Jose; as well as, getting a serviceable piece. Since we don't want to move KP and Carmelo, the next thing is to try to move RoLo and Aflalo
