Disagree. The fact that he needed to play Lopez/Porzingis at all times was obvious. Both are shot blockers and good/very good rebounders. Without 1, we're easy to get layups on and no intimidation inside. Defensively that is our bread and butter. Too many minutes this season with an undersized Quinn, Seraphin (good on O, no D) types manning the middle.
The other thing was the extended freedom given to Sasha early on. I wasn't a fan. The guy isn't NBA material anymore (was always borderline NBA). If he were a good 3 point shooter, ok. He's a great cheerleader and teammate. I just didn't see any reason to give guys like Seraphin and Vujacic as much playing time as they got in many games this year.
That said, we have a weak bench for a team that's got 1 star. Teams that have 2 stars can get away with a weak bench. Teams that have 1 star and no clear defined 2nd option, have a bigger need for depth. There's no doubting that he needed to look around and see what his bench could give him.
