He once scored 32 points against the Clippers and Durant once called him the best athlete in the league. Does Fish know about him from OKC days? Talented! Cut Thomas and get PJ3. He;s talking about Jones... Tweet was deleted or there was problem with the URL: EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

![]() The Lakers waived Jabari Brown:
http://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/lakersnow/la-sp-ln-metta-world-peace-not-jabari-brown-gets-lakers-final-roster-spot-20151026-story.html Go get this guy, Phil. Great fit. We need guard help, esp. at SG with Afflalo down (maybe for 2 weeks or more). I've heard all the knocks on this kid: not big enough, not athletic enough, too one-dimensional. All true to a certain degree. You know what, though? I like that dimension he brings. This dude's a potent little scorer. Can go get his own shot whenever he wants, he gets to the FT line at a good rate and he's not some volume shooter--he's a quality outside shooter. Above average 3-pt shooter wherever he's been--college, DL, Lakers...Perfect addition to make right now with Afflalo down (if something better came along, simply waive Brown. Why not? Look at Cuban--this dude's waiving guaranteed contracts all over the joint. Brown wouldn't cost too much to sign right now). Not even sure he'd play a ton but we grab him now as the 15th guy (the opposite of Thanasis btw--people didn't like TA because he didn't have enough offensive polish. Well this guy's offensive game is NBA-ready) and either acclimate him to play within a few days or we assign him to Westchester and have him develop further there along with Travis Trice (hopefully nobody else signs Trice). That'd be two nice guards to have tucked away that are capable of playing at the NBA level. Again though, Jabari's good enough to contribute for us right now. There's no doubt about that. Kid can drop buckets. We could use more scoring punch with AA down--that's what this kid brings. He even reminds me of AA a little. Afflalo/less athletic Shannon Brown. Surprised to see that many Laker fans favored Metta making the team over Brown. I would've thought the opposite -- MWP looked pretty much shot when we had him, no? How much do they think this guy has left? And how good do they think they are? Jabari Brown's only 22--a good, NBA-ready scorer with a whole career ahead of him. Had several real good games for them last year...Very strange. |

The have Clarkson, Russell, Swaggy-P, Sweet Lou Williams and Huertas ahead of him so not like he didn't have any competition. He somewhat reminds me of Courtney Lee as a smaller/combo guard who can score some --- probably a more aggressive scorer and worse defender than Lee. I wouldn't be upset if we picked up Brown. Also like Lorenzo Brown because he is a pure PG plus like N-Johnson. |

I'd rather have a guy really good at something over guys that seem average at everything. NJ has a lot to offer too, no question -- JB's just seems like the more efficient scorer than either of those other guys. Just more NBA ready. I betcha if we went out and got Jabari right now, got him up to speed the best we could and decided we were going to get him some immediate PT, he'd go out and score double figures opening night in Milwaukee. Good chance he could drop 20 if we got him enough shots. I like him as a scorer that much..Another thing I like about him is his demeanor -- he's just a relentless scorer out there that puts his head down and keeps coming at you. He seems very confident, calm, cool and collected. Being thrust right into a rotation spot with the Knicks wouldn't faze him at all. I think he'd thrive here...Just very good at what he does--and what he does, we need. We're not replacing Afflalo's scoring with Sasha V. Not happening. We need more reliable scoring beside Melo and D-Will. And we needed stronger SG depth anyway, even at full strength. With JB in the mix, we'd have better overall guard depth...What if Afflalo's injury lingers a lot longer than anticipated and/or pops up again throughout the season? What if Sasha's done as a player? What if Galloway regresses or hits that 2nd year wall? All that could happen...This a chance to stabilize the SG spot with a nice young prospect that's actually capable of contributing legit scoring punch right away. No brainer...Again, for the money he'd be making, if something better came along, just waive him and add the better player. For now though, he's a good choice to finalize this roster with. |

![]() Brown was Clarkson running mate in Mizzou for a year and they teamed up to be a very good tandem in the SEC.
