![]() I Dont even see Durant winding up in LA. Besides isn't it a done deal that Durant is coming to New York to play with Melo according to SAS? Its way to early in the season for SAS to be starting trouble. Actually pre-season hasn't even started! A lot can change between now and June. Is Durant leaving OKC if they win the championship? I'm pretty sure that is the only thing on Durants mind right now. SAS barked up the wrong tree this time. If this escalates he will be fired and a lot of folks and players will throw a parade

![]() And if Durant goes to LA should he be rehired?
Here we are, talking about it. ESPN loving the ratings. Bayless sucks too. |

![]() Not a fan of Smith's style as a commentator...a bit loud on the ears, but I'm sure he has his sources, some of who are probably speculating themselves, at times.
Lot of hatred for reporters on UK, or so it would seem to me, especially when they are saying things that people don't like to hear. Reporters live or die on their reputation. If you keep on throwing out BS, you become marginalized over time. You look at the extreme case of Brian Williams, and you see what can happen when you are a "reporter" who lies. I suppose that you have to pick and choose the guys you follow on Twitter, Bleacher, ESPN, etc., but most have some sources they can get legit info from. I tend to believe the reporters more than the players, though, since most of the stars have a bunch of sycophants and hanger-ons who like the exposure and perks they get with hanging around a star. Look at Smith's Twitter page, by the away. He is another guy who likes to be seen with the rich and famous. (Edit)Wanted to say that he likes the access his job has given him to famous folks, and you know that he does not want to jeopardize this by being portrayed as a commentator who tells deliberate lies just to get publicity. Tweet was deleted or there was problem with the URL: Players say stuff "in private" and eventually it gets leaked out, and in today's media, once out, it spreads like a wildfire. Much more likely that a player says something without thinking, and it gets picked up by this or that reporter, than the reporter is just making things up. Of course you don't want to put out an outright lie, but do you really think Smith is going to put out some info if he did not trust his source? Ball players make their money on the court- if they say something stupid or wrong, nobody really cares as long as they perform as players. Commentators and columnists, on the other hand, also have to "perform," but even if they are popular, they will be hammered if they are found to be making up things or pushing outright lies as the truth. The hero-worship fanboy stuff- where a favorite player can do no wrong- something prevalent around here- is a bit sickening at times. The big thing any "star" has to do is have a tighter and more trustworthy circle, and if he is not sure about them, he has to keep his mouth shut. If you don't care about this, then you have to accept the consequences, and perhaps some actually like the publicity, because it gets their name into the news. Probably not done as much as athletes, but who knows, these days. EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

![]() i find the rumor-mongering that smith, broussard, and company do quite distasteful. there's undeniably something gossipy and bitchy about it. i can't relate to the need for these parasites.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

![]() Probably an ESPN epidemic. They rarely break stories despite being the leader in sports. Someone always beats them to the punch. So they just make **** up. Sickening how they refuse to credit original sources. Money business all around

![]() What guys like SAS, or any of the more colorful commentators/reporters are doing in their particular field is the same crap players in many sports do. Posing, trademark dances on the field...the kind of stuff that makes it into a video game... Players do idiotic, knucklehead, irresponsible things and there are always a large group of posters around here who support or justify these things and go after anyone who suggests that what they are doing might be the wrong thing to do. Players do this stuff and it is attributed to "personality," and some defend it in all sorts of ways- even evoking the constitution.
Seems like the new refrain is that if a player we like is linked to something unflattering, we just say that the reports are lies and the reporters are just making things up. We never question the good news, though, and readily lap up the things our favorite athletes tell us, even when what they say is clearly self-serving. If I criticize players for paying too much attention to their "brand," I'm usually shot down by posters, who see it as part of the sport at this point. What do people think a guy like SAS is doing...he's creating a persona that is identified with him. He sticks to his schtick. I'm not a fan, but how is he doing anything different than players with a signature look or gesture? You want a "vanilla" reporter who is low key and gets out his/her message with little fanfare...fine. That is what I prefer, myself, but many of these guys do their thing in order to differentiate themselves from other reporters/commentators, and they're always looking for a story or rumor that gives them an edge or gets them some publicity in the media. I might not like this stuff, but I understand it, and it goes hand in hand with today's athletes- many of whom are looking for attention by trying to do something different from their peers- be it a look, gesture, tattoo, hair, headband, whatever. Seems to me that folks might want to be a bit more balanced when they are critical. EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

It's best for NBA players and athletes in general not to say anything rather than to attack someones integrity. It's just best to ignore the media questions which are often designed to get a bad reaction out of athletes so in this case the reporters got the controversy they wanted. I don't think this is KD.....I think this is his agent or boys talking for him. Has KD said anything live, with his own mouth? These social media thugs have to go. SAS looked into the camera and was talking to KD. He didn't go to twitter, instagram or email. When will KD step up and be this social media gangster he's trying to portray. Can we get a live interview? Any links? Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland.
The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!
