If you guys do not like DK why not just ignore him? You do not have to respond or quote his post. If you want to keep a thread going in the direction of the OP keep your replies on the titled subject.

Thank you yellow.

sad, but true.

Charles has been also critical in the 54 win season, saying things like the Nets were the better team:

That's neither here nor there now, though. Now's the time to change the narrative of the Knicks to the mainstream media, and stop being the running butt of a joke they've been for 15 years.

Prior to last season, the knicks made the playoffs 3 of the last 4 seasons melo and amare played together, so how have we been the butt of every joke ?

I actually like some of DK post, but when it comes to melo, he just kills me, and the fact that he and a few others seem to ride along with bias post towards melo seemed dumb and useless.

They can't except that the guy is a top 3 scorer and has not other real strengths. Rodman became a hall of famer by rebounding and playing great pesky defense, nobody ever killed him for not being able to score like barkley, he is what he is, and knew his role.

It's up to management to supply guys who will rebound, guards who will pass, and build a team of specialist

Yup. On paper, every player pickup makes sense, fills a role, not glamourous by any means, but are Phil's type of guys.

Remember he had tons of these types of players on his roster in Chicago and LA: Luc Longley, Bill Wennington, Bison Dele, Ron Harper, Stacey King, Vladimir Radmanovic, Luke Walton, Cliff Levingston, Will Perdue, Brian Shaw, Mark Madsen, Rick Fox, Jud Buechler, Jason Caffey, Devean George, etc

No frill dudes, just play a role and play it well. No BS, no attitude, just play the right way, and stay in your lane type guys.

Each one of the aforementioned played valuable minutes during those championship seasons and chipped in where they could.

MJ and Kobe wouldn't have won all those titles without the support of these type of fringe lunch pail type players. This is season 1 of the building blocks....

but melo has been hoodwinked and bamboozled, throwing headbands, livid and outraged!!! i thought that as a "favorite son" we had to cater to his personal needs and preferences as though the knicks were part of his entourage? you mean the knicks do not revolve around melo any longer? ohmygoodnessgosh

you will will turn any comment into a melo hate thread. If someone asked about Lin's mother you will somehow incorporate melo in the answer

i am simply quoting stephen a smith and other nuggets from the media and social networks. how is that hate? frankly this is going to be melo's best chance and proving himself. he's never had to prove himself because it has always been about the world revolving around him, and it has led to nothing but failure. he should be embracing the opportunity. i myself will be his loudest supporter when i see him play the game the right way on both ends of the floor.

You don't tell the truth so why would anyone believe this? In regards to you turning threads into melo hate threads it is accurate. Thread was about Barkley finally complementing the Knicks. Who snuck Melo hate in?

look i know you are frustrated that you can't find that smoking gun:

as you can see i gave you an out and you didn't take it. face it: you're the liar here otherwise you would have found the quote by now. maybe you should consult with godshamgod, bluest, and moocow over at realgm.

ready for that psych profile?

Are they the guys that kicked you out for being a troll?

no. they're the guys who couldn't handle the truth.

We know you don't tell the truth so what was the issue?

going back to the goebbels propaganda route, then? great. you are repeating the lie that i am a liar.

too funny.

you just showed a highlight reel of about 90 seconds of a season and then a clip of stephen a smith. this too is propaganda. are you a dunce?

so your response is yet another highlight video. here's my response.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Posting a highlight video to prove someones greatness is beyond stupid and is something I would expect a 12 year old to do.

If barely getting into the playoffs when half the teams in the NBA get in, and getting bounced early in the 1st round is your barometer for success, I'm not sure what else to tell you.

DK, here is the biggest issue i think you face on this board. If you just didn't like Melo, but were realistic about who he really is than it would be different. It's ok to not like a player for his game and attitude, and in return it is ok for him to just be a star player that is not good enough to lead a team to a title. There is nothing wrong with that. He's a great scorer, who has been an all-nba player most of his career and will be in the hall of fame. Nothing wrong with that at all. If your expectation is he needs to be lebron/kobe level, than i don't know what to tell you. What i can tell you is most of my good friends are involved in basketball for a living, mainly coaching and training. I have had great discussions with most of them about Melo. Most do not view him as a franchise player, that role is designated for very few players over the past many years. But most view him as a star in the league that is needed to take over games and excel in big moments. Advanced metrics say a lot, but there is still a game to be played. Of everyone who i have discussed Melo with, you are by far the most negative in your perception about him, to an unrealistic point. I know you always have metrics and theories to show you are right and how bad he really is, that's great, but it is not how a majority involved in the game view him. You are the bottom 1%. If you think that makes you in the top 1% of basketball knowledge, that's great.

I do remember last time you were called out on this you actually posted to a game thread once and had to admit Melo played a great game. I know you have worked hard to forget about that but it was special day for me.

i just watched the video and wow does melo suck as a defender. just sucks. as to being called a troll who doesn't watch games, first consider the source-- these people are swine and if you were a poster there you would know that-- and then consider whether they are telling the truth. you need to up your game... you don't have to equate every accusation leveled against someone you don't like as the truth, do you? that's the way a ten year old thinks.

If you think that makes you in the top 1% of basketball knowledge, that's great.

thanks for the civil post. for all you have written, the issue for me is not how good he is or not, it's the pricetag he puts on himself in terms of the value he brings, and his prioritizing of money first and winning second.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Who snuck Melo hate in?

ready for that psych profile?

Are they the guys that kicked you out for being a troll?

no. they're the guys who couldn't handle the truth.

We know you don't tell the truth so what was the issue?

going back to the goebbels propaganda route, then? great. you are repeating the lie that i am a liar.

too funny.

you just showed a highlight reel of about 90 seconds of a season and then a clip of stephen a smith. this too is propaganda. are you a dunce?

the things you listed cant be quantified or proved. You have no knowledge on this person, you dont even watch him on the court. You have no clue what his priorities are. You take some sliver from a NY tabloid reported and run with it. You simply cant help yourself.. you have to inject Melo negativity, which is based on little to nothing but your own personal feelings and how YOU percieve him. Melo has played with a lot of guys and not one anywhere says winning comes second to him. So you repeat your own feelings over and over again until you believe they are facts. It doesnt work that way.. it just makes you a hater. Kind of Goebels like, but not as crafty or effective. How many message boards full of "swine" need to tell you your wrong? Yawn... 1% indeed.

Your qualified to talk about MElo's feelings, priorities or agendas? Laughable.

I would never ignore this poster. DK is the booger eating kid in Caddyshack. Its kinda gross, but funny as well as you know he just cant help himself lol. Yiyiyiyiyiyiyiyiy!

to quote walsh, who was shoved aside by dolan, "a player is good at one price and bad at another."

we grossly overpaid TWICE, once in human assets and a second time in salary-cap killing fashion. in both cases the knicks have not been able to build any kind of team because of the melo trade and then the melo supermax. had he waited they could have built something then. had he taken a deep and significant discount, which is what everybody wanted him to do-- except his most ardent ball-garglers-- we could have built something.

as it is, he has been and remains a bad player at this price. as a free agent he would have been a very good player, and at a significant discount a very very good player.

well guess what... phil has decided he is going to build something and that means not building around melo but for after melo.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

ready for that psych profile?

Are they the guys that kicked you out for being a troll?

no. they're the guys who couldn't handle the truth.

We know you don't tell the truth so what was the issue?

going back to the goebbels propaganda route, then? great. you are repeating the lie that i am a liar.

too funny.

Why did you get the boot? Be honest.

moocow is a "global mod" meaning he is part of an oligarchy, as opposed to a forum mod, which is what tkf-- true knick fan, a GREAT basketball mind, and very very sharp, and part of a lower rank than moocow.

i believe i said he should stop gargling melo's balls-- a great phrase i nicked from another great poster whose name escapes me-- and voila! that was enough pretext for moocow to ban me.

in other words, it was not point of view and my reasoning for my point of view for which i was banned, it was the very funny insult i hurled at moocow.

he just couldn't handle the truth.

when you say they couldnt handle the truth.. meaning that you dont watch games and troll? That truth? when enough people tell you your a duck time to turn around and check your ass for yellow feathers.

If you think that makes you in the top 1% of basketball knowledge, that's great.

thanks for the civil post. for all you have written, the issue for me is not how good he is or not, it's the pricetag he puts on himself in terms of the value he brings, and his prioritizing of money first and winning second.

Oh, so it's not that he's a mindless, defenseless prehistoric chucking dinosaur, a 6th man at best, a killer of quality yoots, the destroyer of basketball played "the right way", and also was never going to get this franchise out of the first round of the REAL season.

It's just that he's an overpaid money-grubber who only plays for money. Check.

Glad to see you've reinvented yourself and are only talking about the checking account of said pariah, and not whether he's good at basketball or not. Make sure to reference this thread when you staring pining away about character assassinations and people not sticking to strictly basketball conversations.

to quote walsh, who was shoved aside by dolan, "a player is good at one price and bad at another."

we grossly overpaid TWICE, once in human assets and a second time in salary-cap killing fashion. in both cases the knicks have not been able to build any kind of team because of the melo trade and then the melo supermax. had he waited they could have built something then. had he taken a deep and significant discount, which is what everybody wanted him to do-- except his most ardent ball-garglers-- we could have built something.

as it is, he has been and remains a bad player at this price. as a free agent he would have been a very good player, and at a significant discount a very very good player.

well guess what... phil has decided he is going to build something and that means not building around melo but for after melo.

Walsh's tenure was a bad one. Hired the wrong coach, traded away assets and picks to clear cap to sign a soon to be busted Amare. The only guy that played up to his contract that Walsh acquired was Melo. He is right about price. He gave up too much for McGrady and cap space and he paid way too much for a busted Amare to try and make his cap clearing moves look ok. He really just compounded his mistakes. Now that the Knicks are finally out from Amare's outrageous deal, Amare is a vet minimum player.

4 years later, what we "sacraficed" to Denver is not even a thought in anyone's mind (except the dkt7th's of the world), and Melo's still not worth whatever he gets paid. The league is filled with horse**** contracts, but the best player this franchise has had since Ewing or Spree is not worth it at any price. Or maybe he might be worth it at maybe Ryan Anderson, David West or, my god, can I really type this: David Lee money? Or maybe Melo shouldn't even be included in a list like this:

Joe Johnson (Nets) $24,894,863
Carmelo Anthony (Knicks) $22,875,000
LeBron James (Cavs) $21,573,398 [Player Option]
Kevin Durant (Thunder) $20,158,622
Paul George (Pacers) $17,120,106
Gordon Hayward (Jazz) $15,409,570
Chandler Parsons (Mavs) $15,361,500
Rudy Gay (Kings) $12,403,101
Nicolas Batum (Blazers) $12,235,750
Danilo Gallinari (Nuggets) $11,559,259
Tyreke Evans (Pelicans) $10,734,586
Luol Deng (Heat) $10,151,612 [Player Option]
Gerald Wallace (Celtics) $10,105,855
Jeff Green (Celtics) $9.2MM [Player Option]
Trevor Ariza (Rockets) $8,193,030
Wilson Chandler (Nuggets) $7,171,662

Take out LeQ and KD, and I'm sure there can be a case made for every single one on this list being a better value than Melo. Especially if you spend a lot of time sniffing the fumes out of Gallo's injured azzhole.

Next up, we will be regaled with tales of the good old days when we had Starbury, a true New Yorker who was at least a good value for the dollar.
