Well yeah, obviously..The the idea that the Knicks are rebuilding has always been nonsense...

I guess your definition of rebuilding doesn't mean trying to sign a top free agent after clearing deck and drafting high potential upside guy and signing role players?

I think the general excepted definition of rebuilding is thru draft picks and building around them as the focus of the team...If the Knicks are going after Durant, I doubt Porzingus is thought of as a piece to build around...

why do you consider the 2 mutually exclusive? I don't. Not every rebuild is the same, so why box it in. The Knicks are rebuilding. They just came off of a 17 win time and have 2 draft picks and a handful of new guys 25 and under. Adding a super star a year after doesn't negate those things, it only accelerates the process.

Yup...perfect situation, to be honest.

Durant is only 6 years older than KP- assuming he is injury free and he plays at a high level until at least 32/3, you are talking 6/7 years on the team (I would hope) Their age-match is pretty good- and as Durant slows down Porzingis would, in theory, be moving into his prime.

Have my doubts about this situation actually becoming reality, but it would work perfectly if you are trying to create a successful franchise that will outlast Phil's tenure with the Knicks.

Yup. 2 guys who can make plays for each other. Like Jordan/Pippen & Kobe/Shaq

build an attractive team for a marquee talent to come to and he will come. porzingis doesn't have to be someone to build "around" but build "with." you have a singularly bass-ackward way of viewing the game itself and how to build a winner.

Th Knick thing to go would be trade KP as he is entering his prime years for the older declining Durant and pair him with an even older already declined Melo and then have the next GM candidate/zen master label the roster consisting of the 2 One way SF's clumsy.

Hopefully things are different this time around and Dolan does not force our GM's hand

Oddly enough, with that much money shoved into PF and no money for wing help (Robin Lopez would chew up a lot) even with a rising cap, the Knicks best chance to win with that kind of lineup ( Zinger, Melo, Durant) would be to jack up threes at a historic rate.

Also, love that SAS had to spend the first five minutes of that video backing off his idiotic lies about Melo's reaction to Phil's moves.

That's his M.O. Now. He did the same thing the previous year. Can't remember what it was but it was the typical "I heard tom Melo's people B.S." But some people bought it because he was all over the Lebron to Miami thing and he would never put anything out there that wasn't 100% true. I think he needs to check his sources

I used to hear all the time that LeBron respected Gallo and wanted to play with him...

yes it would be idiotic. again, subtraction by addition because of overlap. same stupid ass pairing as melo and stoudemire.

i heard the smith soliloquy differently. melo said what he said, smith reported and amplified it, melo realized yet again he fvcked up, upbraided smith for amplifying the fvckup, and asked him to do damage control for BOTH of them. this to me is far more plausible.

they're both clowns.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Plausible. It's hard to imagine SAS would just make this up out of the blue jk matter how annoying he is. He would lose all credibility

Not that I beleive Durant is comming to the Knicks. But Melo Durant and KP could work together. KP would probably come off the bench as a 4/5. Rolo Durant Melo would be the frontcourt. Melo brings more of a back to basket dimension then Durant or KP does at this point which could be his notch to fit in. The spacing that Durant provides as well as pulling the better defender off of Melo would be a dream come true for him. KP would come in for Melo or KD forming a 3 man rotation at the 3/4. Matchup wise KP KD Melo would be good in late game 3 point scenarios and ft shooting senarios.

They would be a pretty deep frontcourt actually with Rolo in the mix. They could go big and defensive with Rolo and KP witg KDs length on the perimeter. Melo could matchup vs SFs in the post with Durant and KP as stretchers.

KD coming here? No chance in hell.

Pot calling..... Bro. From the few threads I've seen, your the biggest blowhard on the board. What sport you play? You talk like your suiting up against Melo or he stole your kicks.

When will people learn not to listen to SAS?? I can't believe people still believe what he says. He's a liar and always acts like he knows inside info when he doesn't. I also think it's hilarious how he acts like these sports stars are his friends but they only talk to him cause it's their job to talk to these media clowns.

Melo must be a huge fan of SAS. I really think that is where he gets his warped logic, ego and false sense of worth from.

It's too bad.

Finally watched the video. The logic of these bobble headed idiots is downright hilarious and they should be ashamed of themselves. They should be take off air eddective immediately.

Mudiay more NBA ready coz he played in arguable the least competive league in the universe in China? While KP Played in Spain, the 2nd most competive league in the world? And he is older and has been playing against older guys for years overseas. Mudiay was in high school last year? Can't make it up man! Unreal!!

How exactly is Durant & Melo going to work anyway? Melo would have to go if that was the case.

Why would Durant come here without Melo?

Yeah I miss read that when I initially responded. Doesn't make sense.

i guess you are overestimating melo's attractiveness to other marquee players. unless of course you believe the horseshyt smith is spewing in this video.

I agree I dont think he has anywhere near the clout he had 3 years ago. I would like to see the Knicks trade Melo, sign Batum and go after a SG in FA

I forget that durant is still 26. I wish we had him badly, his efficiency is off the charts.

KP will be a center one day.

KP, Melo and KD can play together.

I guess, if you overlook he defensive aspect of the game entirely. Both guys are terrible defenders in there 20s. Can't wait to see what they look like in their mid to late 30s

I don't think KP would start at center over Rolo....Assuming this pipe dream of Durrant comes true.

But as we all learned from the past, it's less painful to assume the worst, than to assume the best.

Durrant has as much of a chance of coming to NY as Lebron did and does.

Lets hope KP can reach an elite level and become our homegrown Durrant.

Lets hope Grant is as solid or better than Charlie Ward. If so, then the PG position will be finaly solidified.

As someone already stated, this team rest on KP and Grants development......Can the rookies handle this pressure of expectation?

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

One day, it might be a few years. RoPez can be the back up, or traded.

As KP fills out I don't think drop back jumpers on the perimeter will be his strongest move, he will gain power and perhaps not be as light on the feet.
That's ok, and thus at 7'3 morph into a Center.

If KD comes next year I too doubt he plays center in year two.

RoPez
KP
Melo
KD
Grant (or who ever)

I don't know what you want to call them regarding positions, I see this team giving others a real hard time.
Defensively it might be a problem on the perimeter but in time if KP is in the middle and RoPez is back up, then your have another starter.

And lets be real, KD does not make us champions in year one.

So the Knicks banking on Durant, really??
