in all seriousness I just want to see the team play well. I want to see the young guys stay healthy and progress and the newly signed guys do what they were brought here for. If those things happen and guys stay relatively healthy the Knicks will be a .500 ish playoff team. Calderon, RLopez, Afflalo and Melo are all good players and if they stay healthy are a good start. KP, Galloway, Grant and Early are all young guys ready to help in supporting roles. Season will come down to health and chemistry. Im very interested to see what adjustments Fisher makes and what kind of rotation we see. Every guy was signed by Phil on this roster... we should start to see some better team/system ball.

I would love it if Williams *became* my favorite play on the 2015/16 Knicks

Will be hoping everyone plays well.

Would love to be proven wrong about Anthony and see him rise to the occasion and play within a system that should still allow him to get his points. Would like to see him finally reach 4APG...if he exceeds this and heads toward 5 will will increase my aspirin regime intake because I might just have a hear attack.

I always tend to root harder for our younger players, and we have a younger team than usual this year- so you have a lot of young'uns to watch grow.

O'Quinn is intriguing to me- my gut feeling is fans will love this guy, and so will I. Also like the fact that he's a local Queens boy who went though our public school system.

Lopez and Aflalo are both intelligent guys based on the interviews I have seen with them and both will be popular with our beat writers, as will O'Quinn.

Interesting group to root for.

If Lopez is such an intelligent player how come he has never averaged even 1 assist per game for his career? Why hasnt he taken the time to develop a 12 footer or even a semblance of a post move? He lives off of others generosity. A post player who avg 2 FT a game is very poor--that means hes not generating offense at all. Hes a Tyson Chandler lite.

Your boy Kanter has averaged 0.6 assists for his career.

you really know how to pick em.

You people need to stop listening to some of the stuff Briggs says cause he tries to act much smarter than he is about basketball and it shows in a lot of the crap he says.

Clearly Phil has gone with the non big name star and youth route. It wasn't likely that we would get one of the big names to come here and in the end only one top guy left his team. He had a sound plan for what he'd do if none of the bigger names came, which was the most likely scenario anyway. You have to at least try to see if there's interest but plan for how you'll build without any of the bigger names.

Now this roster is more about the future than the present but there is a nice balance to the age of the roster and the ability to win even now and the next few years.

Papabear Says

LOL he has gone without the big names because none wanted to come here.

None wanted to go anywhere since only one big name even changed teams this year so every GM in basketball must stink except the guys in San Antonio then. LOL

Half the guys haven't even suited up for the Knicks yet. Do you pick your favorite foods while looking at the menu, or do you wait until you've tried it?

Excited for this team as a unit though and can't wait to see them guy the floor. Plan on actually paying for that BallStreams service this year after years of only watching national games or poor quality streams. (Kudos to Crush for the info on that btw)

This is what i want to see and i said a little while back that out everyone with the Knicks the person i'm most worried about now is Fisher and if he can be a good head coach. He has some good players that are willing to do the things that are needed from them now to win some games, so can Fish bring it all together and get these guys playing some good basketball is the question i'm waiting to see answered.

Interesting way of looking at it...I assume that you were not a fan of the signing- I'm was surprised a bit, too.

Maybe he surprises all of us. I would love to be proven wrong about him.

I'm not sure he will be a knick. Fisher said he was not going to get set camp invite because of the loaded positions .

Can we trade players we just signed.....I would trade any one of these guys....

Lance, Amundson, Ledo, Calderson, etc... for Ndour.

I would do lance for ndour in a heartbeat. Amundson was the only one of the two who should have had a shot coming back.

We have a good group of guys here now....good meaning their personalities mesh. Same type of selfless, workmans types that all have something to prove.

It's a new season. I'm prepared to give everybody a pass, at least until after the first few pre-season games. I'm gonna accept that Calderone was injured ALL of last season, and I'll wait to see what he brings. Also, I'm hoping that N'dour makes the team, and shines.

Not sure yet but I like all of the guys. Most years there are usually a couple of guys that I think need to be moved. I really hope the Knicks sign Ndour.

I think the Knicks severely overpaid... but if he actually pans out then it becomes a great deal.

The Knicks deseprately need either a SF or a PF (depending upon where you want to play Melo) to step up and be a legit starter. If Williams starts tapping into his potential then the Knicks got a serious talent infusion, and in theory he can play either position.

Pretty clear that Amundson and Lance were rewarded for being good citizens and learning the Triangle.

People have criticized Phil for "exposing" the behavior of JR, Shump, Sam, and to a lesser extent, THJ, and wonder if FAs will want to come here, but rewarding guys like Amundson and Thomas show folks that players will be rewarded if they put in an honest effort, even if they are not top of the line performers.

Both are also guys who learned the system and can impart that to new players. From the Rosen article:

Even so, Jackson is not overly enthusiastic about adding five or more new players to next season's rosters. What he'd rather do is bring in a few NBA veterans ASAP: "The idea is to have the rest of this season to get them indoctrinated, to get them comfortable in Fish's game plan. Something might come along during the trading deadline.

I think this is why Fisher coached SL, even though he seemed to introduce a variation of the Triangle, from what I've read. Not sure you want to recreate the wheel each year. Having to teach the system without guys on the court who can model it, would be a problem.

You now have a number of players on the team who know it...should make the transition for our new players a little easier.
