Phil Jackson and Carmelo Anthony haven't talked since free agency began, and team president isn't concerned if Knicks’ star is upset with latest moves
LAS VEGAS – Carmelo Anthony is a franchise player in name only. Phil Jackson revealed on Monday that he hasn’t spoken with the Knicks superstar since the start of free agency and added that he isn’t concerned if Anthony is upset over the direction of the club.“Well, you know, we’re a team sport,” Jackson said. “When we’re putting a team together that’s our first priority; how do we make a team that works together? That’s the important aspect. How this all comes together is still a mystery for us. We’ve got five months to kinda get into it here.
“Obviously Carmelo is a guy that is a premier player, we understand that. But it’s a team game. And it has to fit together.”
It's time to sharpen up Knick fans, you are being played...
being played, how? melo got all that money and a no-trade. now he has to sack up and be a good employee for the good of the knicks. you should be applauding these developments. what's your problem? the plan is no longer catering to the primadonna?
How many user names do you have, as mentioned by other poster. Is this true? Just to agree with uourself? Pathetic.
Let the money go brah. He is one of the best scorers is the league. Won the scoring title remember. Won 54 games with Woodson iso offense with him as #1. Still #1 on the team and umm yes the team does cater to him as Phil has put together a team strictly with in mind. So he deserves all the money he gets. As for effort, played on bum knee on a horrible team where most would of sat. He is our best player so better start rooting for him unless you want to become a Net fan. As for the young talent they looked great in Vegas. If the new cast outperforms last years, with Melo we will have a great year.
