It would have been nice if KP's teammates would have given him a chance to score against Okafor in the paint. Obviously it's not in the Knicks' plan to paint him as the focal point of their offense in this summer league.

I guess he did some shake and bake with his jumper.

gallo had him on a break away that would have brought the house down. Instead he missed him, held on to the ball and got fouled.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Have no issue with the time limit.

Guards have to set him up, though, and that is an issue.

Calderon might actually have a good time with Porzingis, like he did with Jason Smith this year.

This is going to be a problem if Grant does not acquire the skill of an entry pass. This is why I think Shved is a must. Lin would have been great but he is at Charlotte.

Grant isnt getting him the ball when he is open inside

Thanks guns! I took a sabbatical from here, from all the losing and negativity. The last 2 season were like Ultron tearing me apart from the inside.

Took a deep breath, reflected, made a conscience decision to now separate "THE PLAYER" from "THE TEAM". Now I only root for The Jersey, not the name. Anyone who exemplifies team play I'll root for, especially after seeing Golden State. So far I'm rooting hard for Kris and Jerian to bring us back to respectability.

Had a baby for the first time, so being a father definitely let me see things in the big picture sense. It's all about big picture, the bottom line, responsibility, and doing things the right way. Melo is the complete opposite of all these things. He's all about brand this, Stay Me7o, Puerto Rican soccer team that, tech company this, see La La naked in that movie...THEN Knicks basketball fifth or maybe sixth.

This upcoming Knicks season, it's like Star Wars Episode 7 for me...THE FORCE AWAKENS!

I'm all in on this YOOT movement, it's refreshing.

I can't believe I'm saying it but the more an watch KP and his ability to do it all on both ends of the floor, the more I think of placing him toe to toe with Towns. Maybe even more Dynamic than Towns! Both guys can score from inside and out, defend, block shots and pass but KP has the speed and playmaking abilities of a guard. This is unheard for a 7'3 player. KP might be a special unique player the NBA has never seen in its existence.

I just hope he becomes a good rebounder as he gets stronger. Towns has the clear advantage there. Didn't Pau Gasol struggle rebounding as a rookie? 6-7rebs only per game?

Pretty accurate video.

What's Porzingis giving Okafor? Like 40-50 pounds at least?

Depends on if he's really weighing in at 230/233 like has been said??

Put this in loop nixluva:

Best part is 0:31 when Senor Okafor eats crow.

He still scored on that block.

No he didn't.

He has 2 big flaws ass of now. One, he is a terrible rebounder. The guy is 7'3", no excuse for him not to average 10 per 36. Its been said already but he can't hold his post position. He figures those 2 out he will be a multiple All Star

okafor is soooo freakin skilled. but the dude's chubby and i could see him gettin fat. work ethic's already been questioned.

Okafor:
I also think he is extremely skilled, but on the offensive end. His conditioning will probably come around but he is not going to be able to bully NBA centers around imo, and will have to develop other parts of his offensive game. Which, I think he will. The problems:

Defense - He is below average, especially for his size.
Free Throw shooting - Do you really want to throw it down low to him and have Hack a Shack? (Even if they change the "rule" lol.)

Kristaps on the other hand is honestly a marvel, a two way player who can score from outside, midrange (did you guys notice this?) and up close (needs to gain strength.)
He can pass, partly due to his size (see's the floor incredibly and has quick reactions) and can defend extremely well. Once his body fills out, look out.
No way do I pick Towns over this guy. Right now you can argue KP is the #1 pick and if the draft was redone, he is not there for us to pick.

Edit - just found this: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/knick-fans-warming-kristaps-porzingis-summer-league-article-1.2292520

Okafor complimented Porzingis, saying that the 19-year-old "looks like he can do everything." Porzingis has impressed opponents and scouts in his three games here.
Two NBA general managers, who did not want to be identified, said they would have selected Porzingis first overall.

and http://nypost.com/2015/07/14/porzingis-rejects-okafor-in-final-minute-of-ot-in-knicks-summer-league-win/

The Sixers went with the safer choice in Okafor. Ironically, Knicks general manager Steve Mills revealed on MSG Network that Clarence Gaines, Phil Jackson’s top advisor, graded Porzingis as the No. 1 pick in the draft over Okafor and Karl-Anthony Towns.

KP may be a more dynamic star player than OK4 but makes KP clearly better than Towns?

With the eye, I would say heart and determination. Looking further at his game KP is much more athletic. Not saying KP will end up being better, but imo he can.

Thanks! Long time lurker, signed up during the lockout season of 2011-12, right before Linsanity.
