Think we can definitely get a future first by adding Lee but wouldn't expect the same type of haul as that Philly/SAC deal unfortunately.

Yeah, the other thing is the Warriors don't have to be desperate. They have until the trade deadline to get under the luxury tax line.

They aren't trying to create cap room to sign FA - they're just trying to keep their payroll costs down.

how many teams will have cap space to absorb at the trade deadline?

Also, does anyone know the exact amount DLee's contract will cost GSW? For some reason I thought I read that his deal would set them back north of $40M. That's a TON for an owner to swallow.

Lakers and Knicks are going to be a bidding war over Jeremy Lin and David Lee.

Some chilly chilly dinners in store for Phil Jackson and Jeannie Buss!

Can we just trade Melo to the Lakers and get this over with?

And while David may have enjoyed playing in NYC and being a Knick, its LA, and though they are running out of water, they are a better run franchise, and they have more talent than we do.

I think the Lakers under Jimmy Buss are just as bad or worse than the Knicks.

Notice how no one is signing there either.

and I would straight up trade our entire roster, picks and everything else for theirs in 1 nano second.

I think GSW is headed to "repeater tax" territory. Meaning they've been in the luxury tax multiple times the past few years, so they have to pay 3x for every single dollar they are over the tax line. Lee's contract is $15.5M so they'd have to pay $46.5M for the luxury of having Lee on the bench.

Well even the Lakers weren't dumb enough to trade as many first round picks as we have. But since Jimmy Buss got there, I'm telling you, watch out, they're dumb.

correct, seems like the second article supports that. And they lose the MLE and other exception.

Well the 2016 #1 is out. GS owes Utah a salary dump pick in 2017. It would have to be Looney and perhaps 3 second rounders.

I actually would love to have Lee back and he would work very well with Melo.

But, only this **** bag franchise can rebuild and then rebuild again and go after the same players that were relevant four years ago.

It's no wonder we have to keep watching the march to the finals. 20 years later and we are still marching to a series we didn't win.

I'd do that. Looney alone is worth a lot to me and DLee for one season I think will have pretty equal value to Monroe.

I think we would regret bringing Lee back. Has his defense improved, remember jazz hands.

Ho Beck saying Lakers and Mavs also interested in D Lee.

Of course! Who needs passing and ability to score in the post. Absolutely useless in the triangle.

Prior to the NBA draft, GS said they were only willing to part with 1 draft pick to unload David Lee, whether that remains a FUTURE draft pick or Kevin Looney remains a question....

With so many teams likely striking out, a team will take David Lee as an expiring, and it would be GS's choice as well as David Lee's and his agent as to where he wants to go
GS will likely do him the favor if all teams were willing to take just 1 draft pick, unless if it is to a contender in The West

Though it would not surprise me if they trade Bogut (2years left) and Brandon Rush instead for NO DRAFT picks while promoting Festiz and Ognjen Kuzmic (RFA, especially signing him to a cap friendly deal)
As well as Speights at Center and keeping Lee till the trade deadline, though could deal all 3 and have the FULL 6m MLE if so in Bogut, Rush, and Lee

Yep, he would pretty much be doing everything Monroe would be doing if he was here.Makes sense going after him.

His lack of defense still bothers me, but he triangle will definitely maximize his plus side.
