you think that chicago wants to take on that salary?

Exactly. I thought they only offered him around $75 mil, and that was before he had season-ending surgery

I don't know, they offered a 4 year deal, They wined and dined him, and they Have Pau.

Bulls if they want can find a way and we can take some salary back to make it work. Im not taking Rose back so the question is melo a better fit for Bulls now than Butler.
Can they pay Melo? Not sure. I just know that they have to pay Butler and Melo seems to complete the imbalance that is rose and Butler.

Id easily keep him if not. I would not take less than a 2 first round 1 high end prospect 1 established GOOD player trade. Carmelo's still a high end player--he just might not be meant for the Knicks.

I thought that Carmelo makes much more that THJ but I could be wrong.

He does and also is a much better player that THJ will ever be.

Of course he is but its all about that salary. I think that very few teams would be willing to take that on, and the few that would are not ready to give up a big package as well.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Though Boston has the assets to do so,

Yeah, I do not see CA waiving his deal to go to Boston
It has to be to a team that can contend and market himself as well

There probably would be a greater chance next season with him going to Philly if another 2 TOP TIER TALENTS go there with him, especially if OK4, Noel, Embid show they can play together
Adding Durant/CA/Lebron on to that squad would chance what everyone has been saying about Philly and Sam Hinkie
Even if just Durant or Lebron went there, it would be enough for CA, while they still can target other 2nd tier talents as well, while moving their starters to become solid backups and they could give us 10 picks for CA and still have 40 left to use and be fine

Think Twolves would have a higher chance than Boston, which has no ALL STARS to attract CA
While Twolves have a YOUNG CORE and the pieces/draft picks to make a deal happen, especially if KG resigns *without guaranteed money for 2nd year* and they trade for CA with his contract and waived to be a development coach/part owner

and we want butler too?

if they want to do a sign and trade for butler, I am sure that they can get back a nice valuable package.

I'd think they would value scoring from Melo especially due to their last playoff performances.

why? what could CLE give up that the Knicks could grow with?

The Miami suggestion seems decent - Justise and Dragic - but would the Knicks really want to load up Miami?

I agree - in terms of what we get back - not sure what cleveland can send us - Mozgov & K Love? Maybe a three way?

I say Cleveland because his best bud is the GM there (LeBron!)

We thought the same thing when we got Melo? Eddy? Bargnani?

Melo to Miami for Justise and Dragic.

Miami resigns Wade.

Melo to Miami would be good for La La (her make up company Market America slut friends are there)and Melo can extend his Pueto Rican Soccer team connection.

Melo bought a soccer team in a US territory about to go into default.

riley would never go for that. in the bigger picture i would be shocked if there were any serious takers for carmelo anthony and that ridiculous contract of his, even if the trade kicker was waived.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

MoSGoV got 2 1st rounders, Felton another 1st rounder, another 1st rounder/swap, 2 GS 2nd rounders *one was a high 2nd rounder, though both were predicted to be high 2nd rounders at the time, and was only 1 piece that Denver gained from the trade

Denver still has Wilson Chandler and Gallo and Chandler could be easily traded for a 1st rounder, same for Gallo who went through many injury seasons
Koufus also got them a late 2nd rounder and one young player

Though the 50m-60m + in salaries and tax in salaries by not absorbing Eddy Curry's salary, has over 4 1st round picks right there

ALL OF THIS just so CA could get an extra year of salary so he can OPT OUT OF IT, so that extra year means NOTHING
If he finished out the season, he would be due for an extra year of service and earn more money though it would still be less than what he made, about 10m or less *cause most of it was in the final year of salary which he opts out of anyway*

So all the assets that we used to bring him home cost us more draft picks/money to try to surround him with talent that teams didn't even want, as we didn't have many options
Most importantly, we would not have had Billups and saved the amnesty, and CP3 likely would be a Knick or maybe even Iggy..

Would have liked to see what the PRE trade Knicks would have done as that was their best year by far, and if STAT would have broken down earlier or continue his high level of play as the #1 option...
Felton would likely have been traded for a positive sum of something as well, hard to imagine what our roster would look like but the years that Isiah drafted/Walsh waited to mature and finding of The Russian were ALL SENT OUR TO BE THE WORSE TRADE OF ALL SPORTS WITH PATRICK EWING and EDDY CURRY

Honesty,
I would be happy to get by 1/4 of what we gave up
