MoSGoV got 2 1st rounders, Felton another 1st rounder, another 1st rounder/swap, 2 GS 2nd rounders *one was a high 2nd rounder, though both were predicted to be high 2nd rounders at the time, and was only 1 piece that Denver gained from the trade
Denver still has Wilson Chandler and Gallo and Chandler could be easily traded for a 1st rounder, same for Gallo who went through many injury seasons
Koufus also got them a late 2nd rounder and one young player
Though the 50m-60m + in salaries and tax in salaries by not absorbing Eddy Curry's salary, has over 4 1st round picks right there
ALL OF THIS just so CA could get an extra year of salary so he can OPT OUT OF IT, so that extra year means NOTHING
If he finished out the season, he would be due for an extra year of service and earn more money though it would still be less than what he made, about 10m or less *cause most of it was in the final year of salary which he opts out of anyway*
So all the assets that we used to bring him home cost us more draft picks/money to try to surround him with talent that teams didn't even want, as we didn't have many options
Most importantly, we would not have had Billups and saved the amnesty, and CP3 likely would be a Knick or maybe even Iggy..
Would have liked to see what the PRE trade Knicks would have done as that was their best year by far, and if STAT would have broken down earlier or continue his high level of play as the #1 option...
Felton would likely have been traded for a positive sum of something as well, hard to imagine what our roster would look like but the years that Isiah drafted/Walsh waited to mature and finding of The Russian were ALL SENT OUR TO BE THE WORSE TRADE OF ALL SPORTS WITH PATRICK EWING and EDDY CURRY
Honesty,
I would be happy to get by 1/4 of what we gave up
