This isn't 1995 the nba is all about shooters and getting to the free throw line via driving to the lane.. Sounds perfect for kris to flourish in the nba with his skill set.. I think he makes a big impact in year one!
even phil doubts he will be ready in year 1. Likely a 2-3 year process

I don't think Phil ever said it's going to take 2 to three years he said he needs to put on weight ...and yes every rookie takes time to adjust to the Nba.. Towns only averaged 10 points a game too and he was the no question # 1 and towns is going to take awhile as well. I think Phil knows this kid is going to have a impact regardless if it's coming off the bench to start the season.

Exactly. Phil never said that. Some guys just make crap up when they have a weak point.

Phil intially said we will see in five years..He later said the kid will take at least a year..ESPN commentators then laughed and said it will take more than a year..

i never said phil said he would take 2-3 years thats just my opinion along with some analysts. Phil said his rookie year might not be great which is understandable. You are getting angry over nothing. Just relax

At this point call it what you want..I used to try to explain the nuance of questioning his actions..Whatever..U see NBA players on the panel scratching their heads..Maybe they are haters too..

that panel was not very good at all. rose's insights are erratic and the other ex-player is borderline whack. bilas is also <meh>

the other two guys fraschilla and whats-his-name who was working with the screens were pretty good.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I think the Knicks did very well in rd 1. How can anyone dismiss Kristaps? Im a very straight shooter Kristaps is a unique player. If he is schooled in the post he could be an unstoppable force--he has the potential to be the best player in the draft---what else can you ask for

I think Grant was a solid pick not spectacular but solid tight for what we want to do.

I dont see free agents looking at the draft--I dont think they care about that. Money is the main ingredient.

He can't play NBA defense if anyone cares..
The complaints about him are about his weight/physical strength. His scouting report talks about his ability to play defense.

On the defensive side he’s really effective as a weak side defender, with his quickness and athleticism he can cover a lot of space in a few steps to alter or block shots ... Furthermore his lateral mobility makes him a solid P&R defender, a key skill for a big man, especially at NBA level ... His footwork also allows him to switch onto the guards forcing them to take difficult shots ... Born in August of 1995

i think when phil says that he is an eye-opening athlete you have to listen-- we're talking about an ex-nba player who coached jordan and bryant and shaq and pippen. i also saw a video of porzingis. he is definitely an athlete. good feet.

The free agents that would of came here before the draft are the same ones that would come here after. The draft changed nothing but good try.

actually all this week Phil has said stuff like "you can't judge a draft until 3 years later" repeatedly. There is a good chance this kid is a 2 -3 year development project before you can say if it was a smart pick or not. In a vacuum that is a normal development time for a lot of bigs. It throws a lot of prior FA rumors/theories out the window though. The David West FA pickup makes sense since he could come in as a veteran at the 4 now and as he gets older/injured you put KP in more to take his minutes.

Monroe sort of makes sense too.

Melo
West
Monroe

Then in the future a front court of

KP
Monroe

could give a lot of team fits offensively and KP could help hide Monroe if he is a shot blocker. So it would work for the immediate future. Long term Melo at the Sf will likely become a problem, but I don't think Melo is part of the long term plans anymore either (IE finishing his current contract).

I have no idea wtf the knicks are doing at the SG spot though and they have way to many PG's on the roster.

The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away

why do people get so hung up on what someone says to the media. most of phil talkign to the media is him talking in circles and him just fulfilling his obligation. maybe with porzingis he's not bull****ting and he will take 3-4 years to develop, maybe he won't and it will be happen quicker and he's just giving himself leeway. who the **** knows until we actually let it happen. who cares what he says to the media.

what do most of you guys tell your wife to get her off your back about doing something around the house? probably anything to get her to shutup.

We have to wait and see what Phil actually does. We don't know who he is gonna actually bring in now. Maybe Monroe is one of the guys. Maybe it's someone else. Maybe he goes after Carroll or Danny Green. Maybe he goes after Khris Middleton and Gasol. We just don't know.

It's been a year and he has been screwing up and you are still waiting..
just one year...? you gave Isiah five and still thought he was great until the day he was fired.

Monroe and west. West will ease the transition to porzingis at Pf.
