But never a foul then a travel call. And Kobe is not the only one......Harden is another one, especially since he doesn't get off the ground very high on those euro step moves.

Pistol Pete brought in street ball, with his dribbling skills.

Iverson enhanced it with the known cross over carry move thats everybody does today. You don't really see the carry unless a big dude does that move. But us 6ft and under guys get away with it because we do it quicker.....

Phil is fighting an uphill battle and I'm not sure if he's just high sometimes and goes on a rant, or if it's part of his plan to keep the Iso ballers away from him and only add coachable system players. He's trying to be the Spurs of the east coast. I hope it works, because 80 percent of the dominating athletes play iso ball.

there's no excuse for traveling and palming no matter what. they even changed the rules and now allow an extra step after you pick up the dribble. but in the last few years i have noticed that most of the time, that in catching the ball they all travel, and in putting the ball on the floor they all travel. wade is especially notorious for this. all it does is promote one on one streetball. it makes the game ugly and difficult to watch. bring back the hand check! jackson has a legitimate gripe. lets hope silver has the balls to undo the damage stern has done to the game.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

street ballers did not have his dribbling skills. his were legit because he neither palmed nor traveled. compare footage of maravich to iverson.

He is right. The game is ugly when the Isolations happen and there is no ball movement. Lebron does travel alot. Many players do.

What is wrong with actually playing by the rules?

he's right but I just think doing that right now is poor form. do that before playing them in the playoffs... but right now? after what the Knicks' record was and what LBJ accomplished? poor form

He's 100% right, so not sure why it's a problem with some many here. Yea, he inherited a pile of trash and is trying to right the ship. Anybody complaining about year 1 is being completely unfair and unreasonable. Despite what the Knicks did last year that doesn't change the fact that traveling is out of control in the league. People are nit picking with guys like Kobe and Jordan saying it was the same when it clearly wasn't. Kerr actually complained a lot about the traveling this year, but nobody made a big deal of it.

The one thing that is relevant is that unless the league changes the way they officiate fouls, Jackson is wasting his breath. The way the game is officiated, you need to be foolish not to rush a perimeter focused offense. You can sneeze on guys on the perimeter and they will get FTs, but if somebody gets clubbed multiple times on a post move they won't call it.

I think that Lebron's (and yes, Melo's) initial push off as the drive to the rim is something that needs to be addressed too.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

You mean Melo might get away with things too? I wonder if Phil realizes that.

LeBron had no choice but to carry the team, GS plays team ball, and half the league was carrying the ball until they started cracking down more.

If Phil is going to talk this much about the state of the game and the triangle, I wish he would put his money where his mouth is and get back to coaching. If not I wish he would stop talking trash until the franchise hes in charge of turning around isn't a joke anymore.

That's what I'm guessing too. in a few weeks he is going to meet with FA's and it wont hurt for him to have the media on his nuts (good or bad) leading up to it. Phil is one of the draws for playing for the knicks. There is no reason why he shouldn't be in the spotlight some himself.

Jackson is writing checks that Fisher has to cash. I would like to see results first. I understand that Phil is in some cases just answering a question, at the same time he should give the tweets and the bold statements a rest until he has some kind of a track record as an exec.

I think that Phil is trying to tell Lebron:

"Lebron, you are not good enough, definitely not as good as people think and certainly not as good as MJ was."

"Lebron, if you come to NY, I can make you that player that you want to be because I am phil frekin jackson"

"Lebron, are you ready to take the challenge?"

pure genius!

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Imagine that... Some NBA event in 2014 and Phil and LeBron have some get together to talk the future...
And by the end of the launch they have a plan... on how to use this new media deal money.
yes... pure genius!
